We’re super excited to have retained our Michelin Star in the MICHELIN Guide 2026 selection.

2026, as one could imagine, hasn’t been the easiest of years. We had to adapt to circumstances beyond our control before eventually returning to what we love, and what we do best.

But if there’s one thing Dubai teaches you, it’s how to turn challenges into opportunities. We didn’t simply get through this year… we grew because of it. It pushed us to adapt, to rethink, and ultimately to come back stronger, sharper and more motivated than ever. That is the true Dubai way.

To our team, friends, and most importantly, our guests, thank you for standing by us through it all.

We’re proud of where we are, but even more excited about where we’re going.

Moonrise has just kicked off a new menu and if you only have 1 night in Dubai, this is where you need to dine.

Through his dishes, Chef Solemann Haddad tells us the story of the city he was born and raised in, through his eyes, in a way only he can.

In Roots, he shows us local tomatoes and microgreens, in Fish Fry, he uses local hamour and coats it in sushi rice, deep-fried until it puffs up like rice crispies.

The Moonrise Grilled Cheese, a day one OG deserves special mention because melted cheese on buttered, toasted Hokkaido milk bread can do no wrong.

My favourite is the Market Prawns, the story of the fish markets, where he’d buy fresh prawns and get the markets’ chefs to grill with local spices.

The evening is a punchy, rhythmic performance of bold feelings.

One of my favourite fruits is melon and this palate cleanser using Omani melons, local honey and Palestinian olive oil was so light and bright.

After dessert, Chef Solemann had one last surprise for the night and it was really cool; it’s related to how the restaurant is built, and the feeling he wants you to leave with.

I won’t say too much, because you’ll just have to experience it for yourself. :)

Last night I got to spend time with the amazing home girl from Mzansi, but now based in Dubai, Ashley Jane Rosenberg, working closely alongside award-winning, Dubai-born culinary talent, Chef Solemann Haddad. They both run and manage Moonrise, nestled on the rooftop of Eden House in Satwa, a 15-seater chef’s table restaurant known for its intimate counter-style seating and a multi-course omakase-style menu that blends Middle Eastern ingredients with Japanese culinary techniques.
