From custom pieces to a candelabra passed down from my grandmother, the Listening Room brings together objects with different histories, references, and points of view.

A contemporary lamp by @ashkan.efard sits against heavy velvet drapery and traditional tassel details. Perforated walnut shutters reference the shape and rhythm of records, while a concealed bar adds a more reflective, jewel-like counterpoint.

I wanted the room to feel as though it had evolved over time rather than been designed in a single gesture. A mix of old and new, personal and unexpected, with details that reveal themselves gradually.

Oh hey, the ropes really work in this space! What started as a quick study in twisted wire morphed into an obsession with twisting textiles this past year. I’m so thankful for collaborations that give me an opportunity to bring what I’m working on in the studio into the real world. This is just the beginning! Please visit the Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse to see these accents in a fabulous listening room designed by @maxaboodyinteriors, open through Nov 1!

One week since design week ended, and I’m finally getting a moment to look back on it all.

Feeling very grateful to have been part of the @rarify x @ikonstudio_ installation during NYCxDESIGN this year at @afternoonlight , and to have shared the space with so many talented collaborators including @senorgabrielsalcedo , @alexisvictoriaduckett , @malloyjamesofficial and everyone else involved behind the scenes.

It was a beautiful (and slightly chaotic) week filled with conversations, installations, last-minute adjustments, inspiring connections, and many memorable moments.

A big thank you to @david_rosenwasser and everyone who stopped by, spent time with the work, supported, collaborated, or helped make it all happen✨
