Two Himalayan summits in one week!

Huge congratulations to @ashleylsmith on reaching the summit of Kyajo Ri (6,186 m), following her successful ascent of Lobuche East (6,119 m) just a week earlier!

Ashley, thank you for trusting Marvel Adventure with both climbs. Sharing these mountain moments with you has been a joy, and we’re proud to celebrate this achievement together. 🙌

A heartfelt thank you to our climbing guides and support team, whose hard work and care helped make both summits possible.

Two summits, unforgettable memories, and another wonderful chapter with the Marvel Adventure family.

We are safely back in the UK and with a total so far of £79,609 for Macmillan Cancer Support, we would like to take this opportunity to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us on our mission & adventure - in every way.

From thousands of messages of encouragement throughout, to thousands of pounds towards a great cause which continue to roll in, we are ever so grateful.

We have just received some great photos of our summit from Ashley Smith and her sherpa; the other two climbers who summited Lobuche that day. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Our summit flag pictures all those who so kindly helped us to foot the cost of an 8000m mountain expedition - in particular, Saga. Whilst we were unable to reach the peak of our originally planned summit, please be assured that we shan't stop until we reach our other target - £100k for charity!

Who says the Himalayas are only for treks? ⛷️

Meet @ashleylsmith , turning the snowy slopes of Cho La Pass (5,420 m) into her own Himalayan skiing adventure!

At an altitude where every step is challenging, she's embracing the mountains in a completely different way.

Iconic moments like these remind us that the mountains are not just about reaching destinations, but about creating extraordinary experiences along the way.

What an adventure, Ashley! 👏

Today we cleaned the mountain of our camps and skied down the glacier back to base camp. We are closing our Manaslu expedition, a cyclone is approaching an already unstable mountain.
•
Two climbers on another team passed away in an avalanche yesterday. Large expedition groups with ~15-50 participants are taking their teams up to camp two and three for sightseeing and fixed rope travel on oxygen, we hope they will stay safe. It appears Manaslu is complete for the season. After living through cyclone weather in 2025, 2021, 2019 and 2014 in Nepal I know it is serious and not something to be taken lightly. I hope it will not damage the current harvest too much here in Nepal. @himalaya_alpine_guides #Manaslu #ski #expedition ⚡️🐺🙏🏻

Zooming back in. This system is currently flowing over 8156m Manaslu from the Southwest, originating in the Arabian Sea. 20 cms of new snow overnight here in Manaslu Base Camp, with more forecasted for today and tomorrow. While snowfall forecast totals are small in most models (1-3 cms), we are getting far more than that here on the mountain. We will continue shoveling out every few hours and stay in place here in Manaslu base camp for now. While there are some more favorable days approaching next week, a cyclone is forecasted to arrive on 24 September. All of my team is here in Manaslu Base Camp. Other teams report 80 climbers at Camp Two (~6200m) and 50 climbers at Camp Three (~6600m). Same snowfall totals at those camps with wind loading as well above. We hope everyone will stay safe. #Manaslu #ski #expedition @himalaya_alpine_guides 🙏🏼

A puja (prayer ceremony) today here at Manaslu Base Camp in normal & typical early September monsoon weather. High above the clouds the sun shines on 8156m Manaslu.
•
Our pujas are small, austere and intentional, without elaboration. The purpose of a puja for me is to think about why I’m here, come together with the team, ask the mountain for a safe passage and think about people who have passed on in the mountains through the decades. We are not in charge, nature calls the shots. Always. We have to listen. ༄ @himalaya_alpine_guides #Manaslu #ski #expedition
