Ashley Weece moved across the country with her husband to plant a church in Brunswick, Maine, with two little boys and zero community. She’s been a full time working mom, a mostly stay at home mom, and everything in between, so she’s felt the guilt from every angle.

We talked about: 📍 The three year rule that helped her stop feeling behind in a new place 🍞 Living in a “five loaves and two fish” season (not enough time, sleep, or snacks) 🙅‍♀️ The overcommitment trap and the fear that if you say no, no one will ever ask again 🩱 Why ignoring your season is a lot like wearing a bathing suit in 20 degree weather 💛 Letting your kids be loved by other people, without the guilt

Thinking back over the summer and these few sweet days in particular spent with these church planting women. Our annual @orchardgroup Women’s Retreat is like one big exhale — from the time given to reflect and relax in God’s presence, to the laughter that comes from being with people who understand the things you hope for and carry. Summertime Chicago is pretty spectacular too. Can’t wait until next year, and love that we’re rooting each other on and holding each other in prayer from across the globe in the meantime.
