POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

HEY RUNNERS…looking for your next BIG challenge?

And maybe one that’s about something much bigger than you?

My friend Ashley, @ashmschneider once ran SOLO across the United States—3,260 miles—to raise money and awareness for MS. What began as a tribute to her mom has grown into an incredible annual coast-to-coast relay.

And they’re looking for runners! 🏃‍♀️🏃

160 miles. 6 days. One team. One mission.

You already know you can run.
Maybe it’s time to see what your running can DO. ❤️

Grab a couple of your crazy running friends, check out the flyer, and consider joining this cause.

Do something hard.
Do something meaningful.
Do something bigger than you.

Who’s in? 🙌

Month 3 🧡 Valparaiso, Indiana - NYC, New York

Key moments include:
- Taping knees, toes, Achilles, and more
- A few too many heat and air quality warnings
- Matching nails with Maizy
- Repeatedly thinking to myself “how on earth did we make it to this point” after moments of doubt

Runners: Jared, Cinda, Sheldon, Shane, and Michael

This summer was an illuminating experience which showed me just how far willpower can get you. Along the way, I have met some of the most wonderful people: many of whom have brought me to tears because of their selflessness, determination, and guidance. Thank you to the runners who model the type of character I too aspire to represent. This journey has changed me for the better and I’m so honored to have been trusted with the duty of keeping these MS warriors safe during their runs. What. An. Adventure.

With no training and only wearing sandals the entire time I walked/ran 153 miles in 6 days (six marathons) across Ohio into Pennsylvania. It was the longest, painful, wettest, hottest, coldest and loneliness weeks of my life. I volunteered to do it to bring awareness to Multiple Sclerosis and raise money for @msruntheus a 501c3a charity that helps people who are living with MS. Thanks to your generous donations I was able to personally raise $10,730 🤯❤️ in only 7 days. It is America’s Longest Relay Run at 3,260 total miles. The relay run begins each year in April in Santa Monica, CA and finishes in August in New York, NY. I volunteered to be runner 19 of 21 runners this year.

Free tip: There is a reason nobody in the 14 year history of this event has ever worn sandals. 10/10 don’t recommend doing it in sandals like I did.

P.S. It truly was an honor to be selected by the founder @ashmschneider and the board to carry the baton in such a prestigious event. Thank you so much to the road crew who kept me alive. To the 14 years of runners before me thank you for all you did to pave the way for me. To the runners after me good luck and God speed.

I Need Help!
A runner had to withdraw from one of the toughest weeks of America’s Longest Relay Run @msruntheus , and I got the call to step in. And, of course, I said I will show up and see what happens!”
Next week I’ll be covering 6 marathons in 6 days across Ohio into Pennsylvania—the hottest, hilliest, and most humid stretch of the relay. And I’ll be the first person in the 14 years of this event to do it all in sandals!
But this isn’t just about seeing if I can survive six days of this.
Every runner commits to raising $10,000 for MS Run the US, a nonprofit that provides, hope, research, and financial aid to people living with multiple sclerosis. Every $3,000 raised can fund another life-changing grant for things like wheelchair ramps, accessible showers, mobility equipment, vehicle modifications, and more. All of your donations are tax deductible (501c3).
This is actually the first time I’ve asked my community to support a charitable cause.
If you’ve enjoyed following my adventures and want to help make a real impact, now is the time.
Donate through the link in my bio.
I appreciate each and every one of you.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for selecting me to be a part of the MS Run the US Relay—not once, but twice.

Being chosen for this incredible journey has meant more to me than I can put into words. As someone living with MS, having the opportunity to represent the MS community, share my story, raise awareness, and help support the mission of MS Run the US has been a true honor.

From my 2023 segment in Colorado to this year’s relay from Milwaukee to Valparaiso, each mile has reminded me that we are capable of so much more than we often believe. These experiences have challenged me, inspired me, and given me the chance to connect with so many amazing people affected by MS.

Thank you for believing in me and for creating an organization that provides hope, inspiration, and support to those living with MS. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity and proud to be part of the MS Run the US family.

Segment 15 | Day 6

Today Kristie went 19 miles strong into Milwaukee! And if finishing her segment wasn’t exciting enough, a group of friends, family and cause supporters joined for a community run to close out the final 7 miles. Thank you to everyone who showed up today! And thank you to Performance Running Outfitters for hosting the start line of the community run!

Each day Kristie ran, she brought more positivity, gratitude and kindness to the route. Not a soul passed by without hearing a “hellllooo!”, “hi friend!” or “goodmorning!” Her grit and consistency is a crucial component to what makes this relay work.

Kristie wants to dedicate today’s run and finish to her Mom, Marlys, who passed away from MS, and taught Kristie the beauty of a positive and friendly lifestyle. 🧡🦋

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Temperature: low of 64° / high of 77°

Segment 15 | Day 5

For the second day in a row, Kristie ran her 28 miles along the Glacial Drumlin State Trail. 🌾 Today she was joined by Ashley, Emily, and Katie for 10 miles and finished off with support from her daughter and dog. 🐕‍🦺 The shade and friendly bikers made for an exciting morning! 🚲 As she gets closer to the finish, Kristie’s legs are becoming more tired, but her positive demeanor remains well in tact! Way to go!!

Also, Kristie saw a slithery reptile today, but at least she’s “faster than a snake!”

She wants to dedicate today’s run as a thank you to the researchers partnered with MS run the US, her friends and family, and the memory of her friend, Kimmy, who passed away from MS.

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin
Temperature: low of 59° / high of 72°
Mileage of the day: 28
Total miles of segment: 140
