Honored and truly grateful to have attended such an incredible and impactful event like SPTE 🌺✨ As Miss Pacific Islands, this experience has opened my eyes to the powerful role tourism plays in shaping our region. From learning how SPTE connects our beautiful Pacific destinations to the world, to seeing firsthand how it brings together industry leaders, promotes sustainable travel, and supports local communities — it has been nothing short of inspiring. SPTE is not just about tourism; it’s about storytelling, cultural pride, economic growth, and creating opportunities for our people across the Pacific. Witnessing how our islands are showcased with authenticity and care has deepened my appreciation for the work that goes into preserving and promoting our heritage. I leave this experience feeling empowered, inspired, and even more passionate about advocating for our islands. It has officially been a week since the crowning ! And I must say to God be the Glory! I thank him for bringing me this far , I thank him for the breath of life every morning, for the new potion of love , his everlasting mercy and most importantly his guidance and protection over me and my family every single day🤍 I’ve been doing a lot of reflection and understanding over this week and I must say every photo I look at speak to me differently because every day has its own story and own beginning and ending, this day I was blessed to wear Jaba by a lovely designer who has roots to both Fiji and Tonga the one and only Shane with his brand laboriel, this day I decided to honor the diverse cultures of my beloved country Fiji ! It reminded me the importance of celebrating cultural diversity and honoring these traditions and our heritage. As a young women who has roots from Samoa and Fiji it inspired me to learn more about my cultures and traditions and to share the diversity of our pacific nations I was intrigued by the similarities we share between pacific nations from our traditional culture whether it be our native languages ,food , practices and even to our way of life, each and every pacific nation has its own unique cultures but also traditions that connects us as pacific people. Our culture has always been apart of who we are as pacific people it is the foundation of a person and knowing your heritage and being deeply rooted in it is a great privilege and honor. I believe it is a blessing to not only have your family as your backbone but your whole village , your whole island and your whole nation aswell because it takes a village to raise a child and being able to fall back on them in times of crisis is a blessing in disguise. our culture, our traditions our heritage is what makes us pacific people it is what sets us apart from the rest of the world and the values we learn are what we should implement everyday in everything we do and every way we can . Our cultures is so beautiful and special we should be proud of it and honor it in anyway we can. Special acknowledgement to Hair &makeup by @ashphaneuf Outfit by @laboriel_official

Psalms 46:5 “ God is within her she will not fail” this Bible verse speaks to me in a way I feel deeply connected with God, it gives me a sense of reassurance that with God I can accomplish wonders! Looking back at photos from my journey I am reminded of what it took to make it possible ! This day I wore a sulu Jaba by my beloved mother which was brought to life by the best tailor I know Nicholas Kama 🩷 it was a very special day for me in the sense it felt like I carried my whole family with me through the garment it reminded me the importance of knowing who you are and being rooted in it . For me, Ailava Samuel’s is her family , her Vanua and a child of God ! It was more then the beauty , brains or skills I possessed it was about the people I represented every single time I step into a room whether in public or private areas . It was all about the people who were there for me because the building of my character was achieved not by myself but by the support, guidance and love from the people who surrounded me and because of that I acknowledge them and give them all the credit❤️‍🩹 “We can only do so much alone but we can do a lot more together “ in the inspirational words of Hellen Keller let us remember that unity is our strength and working together isn’t a disadvantage but rather a free step higher to victory. Before I end I’d like to acknowledge Hair and makeup by @ashphaneuf Outfit by @lavalani_designs

As I reflect upon my journey I acknowledge all those who stood by me in times of defiance in a time where I questioned my own personal beliefs a time I even questioned my existence but all in all I extend my deepest gratitude to the man above my Heavenly Father for his unwavering love and my team for their sacrifice, service and love I applaud them for always ensuring I’m okay mentally, physically, emotionally and most importantly spiritually! Now let’s have a moment for the dress by @samsonleefiji and the hair and makeup by @ashphaneuf I must give all the credits to them for not only making me look beautiful but also for making me Feel beautiful✨

Miss Pacific Islands traditional attire by Ash Phaneuf and Jane ✨ This isn’t my work, but I just had to share my admiration for it. The attention to detail, the way every shell was thoughtfully placed is incredible. You are such an inspiration, and I’m so grateful to have been able to contribute my little bit to its creation.

Across the Pacific, culture has never existed in isolation. Our ancestors travelled by waqa, carrying knowledge, language, tradition and custom across the ocean that connects us all. What we wear today tells the story of where we come from and who we are connected to. Day 4 at the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant and Miss Fiji stepped out wrapped in more than fabric. She wears a story of heritage, unity, and belonging. Dressed in Designer Laboriel Fiji’s Kakala Print, her ensemble honours the sacred Tongan garland of love and respect, while also reflecting Fijian custom and Pacific continuity. Her belt, hand-woven with magimagi and mother-of-pearl from Lakeba in Lau, carries the strength of our islands and the wisdom of our ancestors. The freshwater pearls from the province of Ra add a gentle glow, treasures of land and water woven into every step she takes. #MissPacificIslandsPageant #MissFiji #TeamFiji #OnePacificOneVoice Hair and Makeup by Ash Phaneuf
