Some moments from my open studio so far 🩷

The HUGEST, heartfelt thank you (!!!!) to all my incredible guests. It means so much that you’d take the time out of your weekend to spend it with me. Being a little off the beaten path, and with so many incredible artists on the tour, it is extra meaningful that you make the effort to seek out my studio.

The people I’ve met this year and conversations I’ve had are unreal and honestly still blowing my mind.

You have all been so warm and open to hearing about my work, my story and my process. It feels so surreal to be able to have these conversations in my home studio and send you home with the pieces that speak to you the most. It literally feels like I’m living in the best daydream 🥹

So thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

Excited to do it all again for the 3rd and final time this weekend. Come on by studio #66 and say hi!

With love,
Kate xx

Your first trip to Joshua Tree goes better when someone who lives here hands you the list. Here’s ours.

1️⃣ The park is only half the hiking. Inside, Ryan Mountain, Lost Horse Mine, and Mastodon Peak are the right amount of effort for the view you get. Outside the park, @pioneertownmountainspreserve, @bigmorongo_canyonpreserve and @whitewaterpreserve are quieter and just as good. 49 Palms ends at the base of large palms that you won’t see coming.

2️⃣ Make the reservation. @thecopperroom1957 and @lacopinekitchen in Yucca Valley, @kitcheninthedesert29 in 29 Palms, and the new @nicedream.yv open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Check their days before you go.

3️⃣ Ride a horse. @cascadetrails_jt is minutes from @masomenosbar, so the coffee or cocktail after is already sorted. @knobhillranch guides you into the national park itself.

4️⃣ Meet the @mojaveminidonkeys. Sunrise hike with the herd, or book Burros + Brunch and they come to you. Ask Ashley about her new foundation for wild burros @mojavedonkeyleague

5️⃣ Leave room in the suitcase. @all_roads_studio, @thepitstopyv, @pioneertowngeneralstore @thedustyblueshop, @jttradingpost, and @rootedjoshuatree. Then go to the source: @aleksandrazee and the @hwy62arttours roster. Plenty of the artists are here year round.

6️⃣ Walk into the @beautybubblesalon. It’s a working salon in downtown Joshua Tree and a time capsule of vintage beauty history, floor to ceiling. Nothing else out here looks like it.

Send this to the friends you’d road trip to the desert with.

Plan ahead or try your luck last minute.

Either way, go ahead. Check availability.

We can honestly say, it’s as useful as it is beautiful.

Our Brass Hose Nozzle is made from solid brass, with a satisfying weight in the hand and an adjustable spray that moves from a light mist to a strong stream.

No plastic, no unnecessary parts, just a simple, hardworking tool made from a material that gets better with time.

The waitlist heard it first.
We’re very happy to share that a small batch of the beloved Brass Hose Hanger is now available online!

As a small Canadian design studio, we produce in considered quantities, so we’ve been patiently waiting for this next run to arrive.

Seeing something we’ve designed, refined (and are a bit obsessed with) find a place in so many of your gardens is something we’ll never take for granted.

Thank you to everyone who waited, and to everyone who continues to make room for the things we make in the spaces they love.

One of our most-loved pieces returns this month.

Produced in small batches, there are already more people on the waitlist than Brass Hose Hangers in this production run.

Join the waitlist through the link in our bio & be first to know when they’re back✨

You asked, we listened.
Meet the new Raw Brass Hose Hanger.

Designed with longevity in mind, this heirloom piece is intended to be used, loved, and passed down to the next gardener of the family.🪴

Constructed from solid brass, it brings a level of beauty to even the most functional corner of your garden.

Which would you choose for your home — aluminum or brass?

(Of course we love our kids equally but wow, she’s a stunner✨)

In the high desert of Joshua Tree, surrounded by ancient creosote rings, cacti bursting into bloom, and tiny wildflowers pushing up through the sand, I am reminded that life is built on connection.

The creosote is one of the oldest and most interconnected plants in the desert, sending out roots that link generation after generation. In many ways, true friendship is much the same.

Decades of shared experience have carried us through moves, weddings, children, celebrations, heartbreaks, and all of life’s unexpected turns. Seasons change, distances grow, and circumstances evolve, but some relationships remain as steady as the desert itself.

Rooted deeply. Quietly resilient. Constant through it all.

Grateful to be here with the best of friends, held by this extraordinary landscape and reminded that the most enduring bonds, like the creosote, continue to grow stronger with time.

Inside Masseria Sylvestre, everything is intentional. The carved wood, soft desert stone and handcrafted textures ground the home in a deep sense of artisanship. | 📷: @ashsabra
