I feel as though this is becoming a more frequent statement of mine ... "this week has been hard". I know that grief has stages and that there is no exact formula, but this week has been a rough one.

At times, I feel like I am going backwards in the stages, but I remind myself that there is no specific way or order to grieve. What I do know is that I allow myself to feel what I need to feel at any given moment, whether it's sadness, anxiousness, complete heartache, gratitude 🙏 for memories and the time we had with Caden, or just feeling lost, exhausted and needing space.

I am thankful for continued support from family, friends, community, my students and even people I don't really know. I appreciate understanding when I am having any of this moments.

Yesterday ended with complete gratitude as some shared their Caden Day with us, thank you. It came at a perfect time and brought beauty into a really long and rough week.

We love each and every one of you BIG! He heals the brokenhearted 💔 and binds up their wounds 💗. Psalms 147:3 #LLCN

As it has been 8 mos from some very significant dates, I am reminded .....

I am reminded that the love and connection I have with Caden as his mom will never fade, it will only get stronger as I remember and see how his life has changed not only mine but so many others. 8 mos ago yesterday, his body literally changed the lives and physical body of atleast 75 people through organ and tissue donation.

I am reminded of all the times we had together as a family, whether we were working through hard times or laughing with joy and 💗! They both get me through each and everyday!

I am reminded of the love and relationship between Caden and his brothers, and the bond that will never be broken even in the physical separation.

I am reminded that "what if's" might sneak in every now and then, but GOD is in control and this was always part of HIS plan, and HIS plan is still moving the hearts and lives of so many!

Please hear this one .... I am reminded that every moment you have on this earth with your family and friends, DON'T waste it on petty things and cherish every moment you have. I am FOREVER grateful that we had the snow days together, that I drove Caden to see friends that weekend, that we played games at home and watched movies, and that we went outside together to walk and play! We were having FUN together and that's what I don't want you to ever miss out on 💗!

So always be kind, live in the moment, love BIG and make amends with those you need to!

Couldn't ask for a more prefect morning to run to The 4.4 miles for Love Like Caden Nowicki! I know that Caden and our Lord above were running with us today! Our crew all PR'd that run! The kids and adults enjoyed making Kindness rocks in honor of Caden to spread in their community 💗!

Trixie, you are the best family dog we could have asked for while raising the boys. You were with us for an amazing 14 years! You loved the boys, they love you and you were the protector of all! Today is my Love Like Caden Nowicki day. I attended church with a dear friend and new friend and then had lunch with them. This evening I got Caden’s heartbeat tattooed on my arm. The tattoo is a reminder to love like Caden, to show kindness to everyone, and to enjoy every moment. We love and miss you Caden! 🩷 #LLCN

As I sit outside on Sunday morning and reflect over the past few days, I am in awe of the power of our Lord and prayer. I am blessed and have so much gratitude for our community, friends and family, and for those who just learned of our amazing sons, Caden Lake Nowicki, story. I knew going into this weekend it would be a roller coaster of emotions, ups, downs and all around!

💗I had the honor Thursday night to join the football moms in the Varsity locker room to pray over the team. This was the first time I had stepped into the locker room since last season and I was overwhelmed with emotions. We are honored that Cadens locker remains preserved (just much cleaner 😊) for him!

🌻Friday morning, our morning "greeting" crew at PUES joined in with 🌻 fun and it helped get my day started brightly along with many parents and students.

🏈Friday night was absolutely perfect!!! The retirement ceremony is in our hearts forever. Whether you came early to attend or happened upon it, we felt the love, comfort and support from everyone! Our Lord above and Caden made their presence known, we could feel it and see it. Thank you Coach Schulz and Dr. Hill for giving space to honor Caden in such an amazing way. Thank you to everyone who played a part in that incredible beautiful evening!

🦋 Schedules are busy and many have lots of things going on, but we are so grateful for our friends, LLCN board that helped with the selling of shirts, and for all Caden's friends that were able to make it home for this special night - Thank you and we love you!

4️⃣4️⃣ Grief is hard, unexplainable and has no right or wrong way to go about it. For those of you experiencing it from the loss of Caden, a family member, a pet or a friend PLEASE know you are NOT alone. I am right along side of you and so is Jesus. He is the only way that I am where I am today. Even though we need time alone during our grieving process, we were made to live in community and lean on Jesus and each other! 🙏 John 3:16 🙏 1 Corinthians 10:31 💗🌻LLCN🌻💗
