POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A room full of people doesn’t guarantee connection. But every once in a while, something shifts, and connection feels inevitable.

At @yorgoslancaster, @a.calhouneventsllc networking mixer unfolded into something far more layered than a typical after-work gathering. It didn’t revolve around titles or polished introductions. It allowed people to arrive without pretense and let interaction happen in a way that felt natural, not rehearsed.

It’s easy to build an event around aesthetics or attendance. It’s harder to create an environment where people feel comfortable enough to be present. Alissa understands that difference. This wasn’t about filling a room. It was about making room for community to take shape in real time.

Set on the third floor, the energy carried a steady flow of people from across Lancaster, each arriving with their own reasons, but leaving with something in common.

@titosvodka added another layer, not just through branded touches and giveaways, but through its partnership with Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County. @cap_lanc

For every Tito’s cocktail purchased, a dollar goes back to support local initiatives through the end of June. Guests were also encouraged to bring non-perishable donations for the Crispus Attucks Community Center, grounding the evening in something larger than the moment itself.

By the end of the night, the giveaways, the photo opportunities, even the happy hour specials felt secondary. What stayed were the conversations people didn’t expect to have and the connections that didn’t feel forced.

Lancaster has a strong sense of community, but that doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built in rooms like this, where the focus shifts from networking as a task to connection as an experience. For a few hours on the third floor at Yorgos, that shift felt real.

If you were there, you felt it.

03/22/26: “You may not always end up where you started, but you can always end up where you belong” -Michelle Obama

I found a booklet from 1999 and what @assets.pa meant to entrepreneurs even back then and I feel so honored to be on this journey.

Walked with Jessie and Ariana to @rinconlatinorestaurantcafe and met Delvin Garcia who worked with Assets from day one to make his dream come true

Tom Malesic @ezsolution , from our board, invited me to the High Business Forum where we heard from the golf legend John Nicholaus

Bumped into an amazing group of women ❤️

I had an inspiring conversation with our board chair, Peter Barber, from @twodudespainting to “move with deliberate speed”

Week two has made one thing very clear, that I am surrounded by a team and board with true grit, strong dedication, and an inspiring commitment to advancing our mission of empowering entrepreneurs.

21 years ago, Cutting Edge started with a simple goal: do good work, treat people right, and build something that lasts.

We’re grateful for every step of the journey.

To our barbers and staff, past and present — thank you for your dedication, your craft, and the care you put into this place every day. This shop exists because of the people who believed in it and gave it their best.

To our clients — thank you for your trust and loyalty through the years. Sitting in our chairs, supporting the shop, and allowing us to be part of your lives means more than words can say.

This milestone is a moment of reflection, gratitude, and appreciation. We’re thankful for where we’ve been, proud of what’s been built together, and excited to keep moving forward.

21 years in — and grateful for every one of them. 🙏💈

The Puerto Rican Heritage Month Flag Raising at City Hall offered a powerful reminder of how culture and community shape the identity of Lancaster. The gathering brought together people whose stories reflect generations of Puerto Rican presence in this city. It became a celebration of heritage and the lasting influence Boriquas have had on Lancaster’s growth.

This month honors the traditions carried from the island to new hometowns like ours. Surrounded by people whose lives and contributions are tied into the fabric of Lancaster, it was clear that #PuertoRican residents continue to enrich the city every day.

Their presence is felt in our neighborhoods, our arts, our food, our businesses, and our schools. It shows up in classrooms, in community advocacy, in local entrepreneurship, and especially in public service.

That truth was at the center of this year’s celebration.

@mayorsorace spoke about the decades of contributions Puerto Ricans have made to Lancaster’s strength. She shared her gratitude for the leadership and commitment that have shaped the city during her time in office.

As the flag rose, she emphasized that the morning was not only about honoring history, but also about celebrating the future of leadership and community pride.

That future stood beside her.

Mayor-elect @jaimearroyo_ stepped forward with a sense of gratitude and purpose. He reflected on what it meant to grow up in Lancaster as part of the Puerto Rican diaspora and spoke about the responsibility he carries as someone shaped both by the city and by the island that formed his identity.

He reminded the community that every step forward is connected to those who came before. The leaders and elders. The families who arrived with hope. The generations who kept culture alive and opened doors for the next.

He shared that the meaning of the flag lives in the stories that define the community and in the responsibility to pass that history to the next generation.

As the flag rose against the sky, it represented that shared responsibility and commitment to keeping culture alive and continuing the work that strengthens Lancaster for all who call it home.

Neighborhoods grow strongest when people choose to show up for one another. That simple truth filled the room at the @sowe_lancaster Business Mixer , an evening that felt less like a networking event and more like a reflection of what makes Southwest Lancaster special.

SoWe has always been shaped by the people who put down roots here and chose to care for one another. Early German families built the first homes on Cabbage Hill. Puerto Rican and Caribbean families added new layers of culture and identity. New Americans continue to bring new energy, new food, new traditions, and new perspectives. Each generation left something meaningful behind.

SoWe exists to honor that legacy and to make sure families can continue building their lives here, no matter how the city changes around them.

This season’s mixer felt especially meaningful because it was hosted inside the newly opened @naumankitchenandbathlanc . The space itself carried the feeling of possibility. Bright, intentional, and beautifully designed, it served as a reminder that local businesses are part of the neighborhood story.

Nauman’s philosophy of creating personalized spaces echoed throughout the evening. Their belief that every home deserves thoughtful design connected naturally to the larger theme of the night. A neighborhood thrives when the people within it feel seen and valued.

During the mixer, SoWe staff highlighted the work happening block by block. All of these efforts may look different on the surface, but they point toward one goal. Build a neighborhood where people can thrive. A neighborhood that feels like home.

Inside Nauman Kitchen and Bath, that message felt even more real. Their collaborative approach mirrors how SoWe works at the community level. When people feel connected to their environment, they invest in its future.

The mixer highlighted how we are all part of the same ecosystem.

Standing in SoWe, you could see the work ahead, but you could also feel the strength already here. A neighborhood is the people who care enough to shape it. And events like the SoWe Business Mixer show that Southwest Lancaster is full of people ready to keep building, together.

🚀 Speed Start: Launch Your Business Tonight!

We had an incredible evening at the @lancasterpubliclibrary Lancaster Public Library’s event featuring keynote speaker Jaime Arroyo, CEO of ASSETS! 🌟💼

This inspiring event was all about empowering entrepreneurs to take that next big step in launching their businesses.
