It’s been one whole month since we closed Roadmap and I still haven’t quite processed everything that’s happened. This production changed the way I look at film, art, and creativity as a whole. I feel like I’ve lived 3 different lives in the past six months, it’s kinda crazy…

First of all, thank you so much to the incredible cast and crew. Without you all and the time, love, and trust that was put into this project, we couldn’t have made this possible. You all showed me exactly where I want to be in life.

Second of all, I’m back in school! I’m finishing my BFA at The New School in NYC, double minoring in film production and screenwriting :) I’ve been here for about a month, staying in temporary housing, but another post will be coming soon on that!

Finally, thank you to everyone who supported me on all of these different journeys I’ve been going on, especially my parents, my business partner and friend @atdave as well as the first crew member we ever brought on, who held me together as I fell apart many nights, and became one of the quintessential parts of our production company, @odinsfavor . Couldn’t have survived without you man!

Anyways, I’m gonna figure out where to live, so this is goodbye for now! More pictures to come soon when I find all of them!

Roadmap:
Thank GOD for reconnecting with old friends because this experience really was everything. First time being on set on the production side and I think I might like it a little more than I thought I would. Everyone in the cast and crew really was so amazing in helping me learn how to manage a set. And not to mention made some amazing friends.

If anyone has any tips on how to successfully be bicoastal lmk. Here’s to working together again in the future 🤍

2AM. Day 1 wrapped. This is what it actually looks like. 😂🎬

This is the sound of a film crew running on fumes after their very first day shooting ROADMAP.

No sleep. Every ounce of energy spent. Up again in 4 hours to do it all over again.

This is what independent filmmaking actually looks like behind the polished trailers and festival posters. It’s exhaustion, it’s chaos, it’s screaming into the void at 2am because that’s the only thing left to do. And somehow, it’s also the most fun we’ve ever had.

We’re doing this because we believe in this story. But we can’t do it alone.

MEET THE TEAM: David Michael Zarish II 🎬

David brings Eric to life in ROADMAP, a story he co-created alongside Sriram Kanduri and Veronica Tullo.

He’s an LA based actor, writer, director, and producer with credits spanning film (The Lost Horse, The Keys, Food For Thought, Bully) and theatre (The Crucible, The Miracle Worker, Lord of the Flies, and more).

Trained in Stanislavski, Meisner, and Suzuki, David blends emotional truth with physical storytelling. He’s also a 2nd degree black belt, a classically trained baritone, and co-founder of The Artists’ Adventure.

Everything he brings to the table is in service of one goal: telling stories that celebrate humanity and connection. ROADMAP is no different.
