Sometimes, our biggest obstacles aren’t external. They’re the limits we place on ourselves.

Maybe it’s time we questioned what’s holding us back, and stopped letting it decide how far we can go.

Glezna rada levitācijas sajūtu, it kā forma būtu īslaicīgi uzpeldējusi skatiena laukā, pirms atkal izšķīst apkārtējā telpā.
🔷 ENG In Atis Jākobsons’ painting, biomorphic forms dissolve in a light-saturated space, where contours remain only as fragile boundaries between matter and radiation. The forms dissolved in light echo the atmospheric landscapes of William Turner, where objects lose their materiality and transform into intense radiance. The work also reflects James Turrell’s interest in light as a psychological and spatial experience. The title of the cycle, Celestial Bodies, introduces an astronomical dimension, but these “bodies” are more like mental or energetic formations–thickenings of light in which the microworld and the scale of the universe merge into a single flow. The painting creates a sense of levitation, as if the form has momentarily floated into the field of view before dissolving back into the surrounding space.

🔲 ENG Atis Jākobsons was represented in the exhibition “Plūsmā” with two works.
In the charcoal drawing, a spatial geometric form seemingly emerges from infinite darkness, simultaneously evoking concentric waves that resemble the response of water, energy, or a gravitational field. The black and white tonality and finely modeled light and shadow give the image an almost photographic materiality, while maintaining an illusory, mental space. The work’s name Dark Matter is a reference to a hypothetical substance whose presence can only be determined through its effects. This work also remains not fully readable. We can interpret it as a meditation on soulful processes, the limits of human perception, and an attempt to give form to that which lies beyond direct experience.

Dear wild darlings,
there are several offerings coming your way. All of them in person. All of them in different places. Perhaps this thread will land exactly in your lap, and you will have the chance to say YES and dive in with others - meeting the community, seeing your own eyes reflected in the eyes of another, hearing your voice out loud and within in. Listening, moving, sensing, remembering and being guided by that one precious thread.

On 26.09., we meet in Ape, Latvia, together with several wild artists who have already participated in our programs, to further explore the question: What Art Are You?
Find all the info here - https://fb.me/e/79Pgjit6Z

On 27.09., we meet in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Yes. Still the same question, but a different circle: What Art Are You?

From 4.12. to 12.12., we meet in Stāmeriena, Latvia, to explore the wild landscape of dreams in a program called “Dreaming from the Mycelium of the Earth”, open to people from Latvia, Romania, Cyprus, Italy, Iceland, Estonia, Czechia, and Slovakia.
