Finally!!

The Chasm is officially live on The Faith Channel’s YouTube channel, and I’m so grateful to finally be able to share it.

This film was truly a community effort. Thank you to everyone who gave your time, talent, donations, encouragement, and prayers to help bring it to life.

Along the way, The Chasm was honored with Best Screenplay at the 2026 ICFF, Best Family Drama, and several other Best Short nominations. It has also opened doors to several upcoming projects I’ve dreamed of creating for years. All God!

Most of all, I’m thankful the film now has a home with The Faith Channel and a chance to reach more people.

If you haven’t seen it yet, tonight is a great time to watch and SHARE it with someone.

I’m grateful to share that The Chasm has been nominated for Best Narrative Short Film at the 2026 Christian Arts Film Festival!

We simply wanted to tell an honest story about faith, family, brokenness, and what can happen when we choose to reach across the things that divide us.

I’m incredibly proud of the cast and crew who trusted the vision and brought so much of themselves to this film. And I’m grateful for every person who supported, donated, prayed, shared, and helped us get it made.

As a filmmaker, I’m learning to appreciate these moments. Celebrate the wins. Be grateful for the work. Then keep telling stories.

Thank you to the @christianartsfilmfestival for recognizing The Chasm and including our film among this year’s nominees.

Best Narrative Short Film.

What an honor. And what a journey this little film continues to have.

Grateful to share that we won Best Screenplay at the International Film and Music Festival for The Chasm. This award speaks to the heart of the story. That it resonated, that it connected, and that it carried a powerful experience and impact beyond the page.

Thank you to everyone who poured into this. Your support, energy, donations, and prayers truly carried this project.

And this is just the beginning. This journey has already opened doors to what’s next. I’ll be directing my first full feature film starting at the end of this month, set to be distributed on a major streaming platform.

All God.

Our Alexa 35 cameras had the opportunity of capturing an incredible interview at the historic Ebeneezer Baptist Church for a Martin Luther King documentary series produced by @larkmedia.co and led by the brilliant vision of @eastalahna and @the_exhibition_curator. We cannot wait for people to experience this moving story.

How do you get people to care about what you’re creating? I think @directorcreed nailed this one.

Vertical Anamorphic Build Breakdown

Me in college, “I’ll never 1st again in my life.”
Still true, I love 2nding. Long story short, I’ve always loved being a 2nd AC and never really enjoyed being a 1st AC, so I just stayed in that lane. But when my long term collaborator and friend @jacobho__ is DPing and called, I guess I will show up for once.

It’s a very rare occasion, so figured I’d document this build.
The challenge was to be able to jump between vertiscope and traditional anamorphic, while still keeping handheld capability on the horizontal side. The transition needs to be fast hence no rebuilding of any kind. To get close to “open gate” on 16:9 without losing pixels, you need a 2x anamorphic squeeze. Problem is 2x lenses are usually massive and heavy, which doesn’t work well with a small body like the ZR. These @blazarlens.official Cato lenses are light enough that I could get away with supporting the PL adapter off the plate with a 1/4 20” screw + washers. To jump between vertical and horizontal, I built two configurations using two dovetails + touch & go plates. One regular, one on an L bracket. The whole build slides in and out of the dovetails. Also opted for a rotatable top/side handle for a solid grab point for the rig in both modes.

Gained a whole new level of respect for my 1st AC friends after this. Y’all are crazy.
