After years in the making, The Plastic Country is finally out in the world 🌏

The full documentary is now available to watch free worldwide on YouTube.

We travelled across Australia, from plastic-covered shores in Arnhem Land to supermarket aisles, wildlife hospitals, waterways and Parliament, to investigate what plastic is doing to our bodies, wildlife and environment.

We made this film because Australia’s plastic crisis is hiding in plain sight. But we also made it because change is possible, if enough people care, speak up and act together.

Tonight, our story will reach millions of Australians through @60minutes9 momentum is building, but our future with plastic now depends on what happens next.

Thank you to everyone who has watched, shared, attended a screening or supported this journey so far. I’m incredibly grateful 🫶

Such a wonderful Community in our Lucky Country!

Thank you to EACH and everyone of you who attended Bottle Top Hill's recent FREE screenings of @theplasticcountry this month. Your attendance and support have meant so much and continues to inspire us to keep pushing forward to help generate a mounting wave of positive change.

A massive thank you to fellow speakers in sharing their time and insights; Dr Linda Davies of the Seahorse Bin Citizen Science Marine Litter Monitoring Project as well as Toby Brown & Crew from Sea Shepherd who together spoke informatively and passionately of the importance of community participation, citizen science and action where it counts.

We are getting pretty keen to venture up north to hold another one of these workshops! 🌱

To be able to teach what we love to people who want to learn about creating food sovereignty is such a gift! It makes @handstoearth_ and I very happy and that’s why we are holding another bunch of these all up and down the east coast. 🌞💚

Next one is on the sunny coast at @permaculture_community_nfr in Kin Kin and we have another two in Central Coast and South Coast coming up later in the year! Community resilience is growing 💪🏼

Our next Backyard Food Sovereignty Workshop is being held up in the Sunny Coast at Noosa Forest Retreat on 29th & of 30th August 🌿

We had an epic weekend teaching some amazing humans in Crescent Head over the solstice, and we’re looking forward to teaching again in the Sunny Coast.

If you’re up there and have been wanting to learn more about cultivating food security & regenerative living, this workshop is like a concise Permaculture Design Course, allowing you to dip your toe in all the areas from growing to composting, and is designed so that you can go and implement the skills you’ve learnt straight away at home.

We will teach on reading the landscape, design skills, growing food and medicine, agroforestry, chickens, composting & closed loop systems, and integrating fungi for food and bush regen.

We’re lucky enough to be hosted by the legends at Noosa Forest Retreat, who are a permaculture community with extensive food systems & are a great example of community living.
