An actor spends a lifetime becoming other people.

But what happens when all the characters leave? When the costumes come off, the applause fades, and the mirror refuses to recognise the person standing in front of it?

‘Ekā Naṭāchā Mrutyu’ (An Actor’s Exit) by Mahesh Elkunchwar has stayed with me ever since I first read it. It’s a play about performance, memory, identity, and the quiet loneliness that can exist behind a life spent on stage.

Directed by Atul Pethe.

Looking forward to sharing it with you.
