Next Monday, August 31, we are excited to launch a monthly chamber music jam here in Nashville: the Classical 615 Jam!

This month’s reading party ‘house band’ will be the esteemed Atwood Quartet.

We’re getting the classical music community together! Sightreaders unite, from professional to aspiring.

Whether you’re playing or not, it’ll be a great way to hear some beautiful music - be it a local composer’s work in progress, or an all-time classic work.

- Want to read quartets for fun with a glass of wine?
- Composers, want to hear a quartet read your piece? (have mercy please!)
- Want to connect with the Nashville string & classical music community in a chill way, and meet some new fellow readers?
- Want to have a negroni and eat pizza with folks that you normally only run into at sessions?
- Want to hear beautiful written music in the relaxed environment of a living room?

We sure hope you can make it out! The more the merrier.

there’s so much I want to say about yesterday

but I’m deeply honored by @nashmco recognizing HEARTLAND and all of the diverse collaborations that made it possible. Including some future collaborations 👀🥹

genre is as diverse as gender and I love to see it in spaces especially that don’t always reflect it.

thank you @cma for giving us the space for this moment.

Cheers, 2025. I napped more than I previously thought possible (thanks for nothing, mono [???]) while also fulfilling some of my wildest dreams. Here’s to even more music, family, friends, tomatoes, and adventures in 2026 🥂

Happy Holidays, y’all ❤️

We the people [artists, podcasters, labels, distributors] are supplying our music [product] so that Spotify [service] can operate and generate revenue to invest in stuff like, AI WARFARE. And I’m sure there’s many other investments we are unaware of that wouldn’t align with most of us.
The thing is that, taking down our music (albeit it an incredibly defiant and noble stand against bullshit), will only work if the big big players also come to the table and take down their music. So we’re looking at you @taylorswift @drake @theweeknd @teddysphotos @arianagrande @eminem @lilbieber @kanyewest and @billieeilish . These top 10 earners are all taking a cool 170-380 Million dollars to each.
That’s a huge amount of money that these artists and or labels, managers etc have to lose, so even if some of these big artists personally want to do this, their hands are tied because the labels have it all watertight contracts that they won’t allow it, and they’ve probably already taken massive lump sum cash advances from Spotify, so they probably can’t take the music down tomorrow even if they all wanted to!
But if there was a long term plan for worldwide coordinated takedown to create a mass blackout of the most popular “human” made music, with a set of demands including transparent reporting and a say in what our revenue is being re-invested in, along with significant raise in the payment structure to the lower tier of artists, and also limits on how much the larger labels can invest in Spotify itself (because it’s a massive fu*kin conflict of interest) we could see a fairer playing field.
There’s my mostly blind optimism rant for the day,
but if you wanna talk about here in the comments below 👇 please do! Cause if nothing else, what’s most important is that I need the online engagement to better my algorithm on socials, ps I’m joking, 😂I know Irony is lost on here!! Let’s have constructive conversations friends!!! ❤️🙏

Let me explain 👇
So when I put out Tropical Depression I wanted this song to be psychedelic Country rocknroll, with a full band. Drums, Bass, congas, pedal steel. Let’s make it two pedal steel guitars!!! 🤯 But fast forward a year, and I realise the real rock n roll thing to do would be to collaborate with the amazing string group @atwoodquartet !
I mean…they were featured on BRIDGERTON, Now that’s rock n roll. And they wrote and performed this incredible string arrangement for my song “Back Out There” !
What’s your flavour?
OG or STRINGS???
