What a way to end the week. We finished the trip exactly how we had hoped, hooked up with some friggin beasts on the fly. There’s just something different about watching a big fish crush a fly you tied yourself. Every cast had the chance to be the next giant, and somehow the fish just kept getting bigger.

Safe to say the fly rod stole the show to finish things off. I wouldn’t change a second of how this week finished. Weeks like this are why I love fishing.

Until the next…

What’s the biggest fish you’ve ever caught on a fly rod? Let me know below ⬇️

The past couple days have been spent on an amazing hunting reservation and a couple really nice ponds, and it’s been about as good as it gets. We’ve caught a little bit of everything, from hard fighting wipers, (which I didn’t even know existed until this trip...) to catfish and bluegill, every day has brought another reason to keep coming back. It’s hard to beat great company, calm water, and fish that keep you busy all day.

Very safe to say the fish got their revenge too, my thumb is completely torn up after lipping so many of them. l’a take a shredded thumb over a slow day of fishing every single time. Not a bad problem to have right?

The best part is we still have a couple more days left, so hopefully there are plenty more fish still waiting on us. Grateful for days like these.

Do you know what two bass mix to make a “Wiper”?
