nothing makes me feel more creatively stoked than spending time with the incredibly talented folk that make up the audio world ❤️ xmtr highlights (in no particular order and barely related to the chaotic array of pictures i took) include @safesoundres listening sesh on the beach with bluetooth headphones that worked best when you were fully submerged, @tonydbirchmusic’s pier installation that brought me to tears, @performancecollectiefurland’s live radio play, hearing about the radio archiving project “library out of air’ from the absolute legends @eleanormcdowall and @kalli.pearl.anderson, @phoebesound @maelizzzle and @audioeloise’s stalls at the sonic fayre, @helenzaltzman for letting me win the “being a general delight” award when we all know she deserves it more, @katharinasmets and @9050_hz’s sea sound walk and @dearlovelucy’s mud bath. thanks to @socialbrdcsts and her fab team of volunteers for getting us all together. my cup overfloweth! till next time friends x

All what I had heard about @hearsayfestival was true: the mountain village of Kilfinane, its community and the landscapes are magical, as is @diarmuidmcintyre and his vision. The joy and the happiness is still in our eyes and ears. I love you all. Reach out, as I forgot to write down too many names 😁💚🦩🎧

@hearsayfestival 2026, how joyful to be back in beautiful Kilfinane after nearly 7 years! Safe + Sound pub takeover at McGraths, listening to stories about romantic love (and some rogue Olly Murs) on a headphone splitter with @beccabryers . Jesse's collaboration with the students from the local school to tell the folk stories of their town in audio form. Listening to moss at the Sáerlaith Project installation. Living, laughing, loving and dancing; nobody's watching with @helenzaltzman and @martinaustwick . Diarmuid Macintyre's house for soda bread, crabapple jelly and mint tea so fresh he only picks it when the special guest speaker arrives (in this case Jesse Baker sharing some fascinating insight into the work of making Where Should We Begin?). Singing an experimental score written for choir for Anne Jeppesen's audio documentary about encounters with other worlds. So many good HearSay dogs this year! Erica Heilman's session about radio rules which was so surprising and blunt and affectionate that I cried. Michael Ummey and Tommy reflecting on the first ever HearSay, which featured two hours daily community radio presented live. A ceili of which I have no documentation but will be surpassed only for joy in my memory by a hall full of audio people attempting to do Zumba to Despacito. Mike Williams's exuberant live doc performance about his local barber (not a Cher fan). Appearing as an emotional support ghost chanting rejected pitches at the traditional audio wake. I'm sure I'm forgetting so much! Beautiful chaos, too many chips from Tasty Bite and much Murphys as always 💚💚💚

Last weekend in the magical hills of Kilfinane, audio makers from across the globe gathered with locals for @hearsayfestival festival. I was there curating for @inthedarkradio with @ninagarthwaite and @sarahfrosh

It was such a beautiful collision of worlds ✨ workshops, installations and talks from some of the world’s best in audio storytelling, with locals welcoming us into their town and homes with open arms, sharing their stories and songs too.

It was a masterclass in community and bringing people together to find common ground, embrace difference + newness and listen collectively.

I left feeling inspired and with my cup full up!
Big up everyone who makes @hearsayfestival happen 👂🌍👂

an extremely nice time had at @hearsayfestival including but not limited to living out our fantasies of running a pub serving pints and mp3s (under the watchful eye of our mentor Pat McGrath) and filling our ears and eyes with many gawjus sights and sounds. thank you to everyone who came to the pub / the strange magical mystery tour / no kids! thank you to all who bought hats - we sold out and will be able to donate a few hundred bob to @transharmreduction this week (exact amount still being calculated, cheers exchange rate) and the BIGGEST thank you to Kilfinane for having us, we love you forever ❤️‍🔥

I should've been speaking at a festival...

Old power-hungry men annihilating the world.

They're the reason I'm not speaking at the International Women's Podcast Festival today created by @contentisqueenhq

Right now, I should've been leading a panel titled "Beyond The Podcast" panel with some incredible women podcasters like Jane Gerber Olivia Bolton Chinny Ukata Ogunlusi Astrid Madimba. (@audioeloise has very kindly agreed to step in at the last minute - I have no doubt she will do a magnificent job.)

You see, my flight was cancelled due to the Middle East crisis. I've been stuck in India, on the phone for hours, trying to get another flight back to London.

It's ironic that I'm unable to speak at a podcast festival for women because of some old men waging war. (If this isn't a great example of why patriarchy needs to go, I don't know what is!)

Women get told that 'power' looks like dominance, borders, and big weapons.

Real power—feminist power—is about building something that lasts like the @contentisqueenhq Festival. It’s about resilience, community, and the refusal to be silenced.

So sitting thousands of miles away, feeling terrible that i missed my panel - I have some things to say:

💥Women: keep raising your voices.

So that your voices are not drowned out by the noise of men who are too fragile to lead with anything but missiles.

💥Keep being the "difficult" one.

💥Remain the one who won't "shut up & go away".

Everyone going to the International Women's Podcast Festival today @contentisqueenhq - I'm going to miss you all!
