CHANCE THE RAPPER in Tampa Part I.

If there’s anything I would’ve wanted @chancetherapper to say to me it would’ve been “God bless you.” Which he delightfully said after I told him how much I appreciated him for his boldness of faith.

If you deeply know me you know how much I look up to Him as a creative, a writer, as someone who proclaims the faith. I remember much of my early formative years being shaped by his music from ACID RAP, to the Social Experiment, to the SURF album, to the many collaborations between SAVEMONEY members. I even think back to times I’d practice his speech cadence and the influence he’s had on my style. Definitely felt like it was such a full circle moment for younger me.

And to my amazing wife, @audreymamaba that “surprised” me with tickets to his show and the meet & greet. There are moments where you know what I need wayyyyy earlier than when I realized I know I need it. What a special experience we were able to share together. Even watching Chance do a 15-20 minute worship set that included “We’re Blessed” by Fred Hammond, what a God wink as we’d say. I truly am the luckiest man alive to have you as not just my wife, but as my best friend.

The most bittersweet goodbye🤍

Today marks my last day on staff at Celebration Church and SEU Jacksonville.

When I walked through the doors of SEU Jacksonville six years ago, nothing could have prepared me for all that would lie ahead. I had decided to return to college after taking two years off post-ministry school. I was so unsure of this decision, but man, am I glad I stepped out in faith.

I quickly jumped into an internship at the beginning of 2021, which in turn, became the job I’ve loved so deeply since August of 2023.

The past six years, three of which as a staff member, have been the most stretching years of my life. Through this experience, I have learned many lessons. Some of them were really hard. I’ve been humbled. I’ve been championed. I’ve learned and walked in my identity in Christ. I’ve seen how real and good Jesus is.

I knew going into this position that it wasn’t going to be forever, but man, time really does fly when you’re having fun. My time on staff at Celebration Church and SEU Jacksonville has been one of the greatest honors of my life so far, and I will always be incredibly thankful for the opportunity to experience it.

What an honor it is for it to be this hard to say goodbye.

As I step into a new season, it’s only right to reflect back on all the things God did through my time at SEU Jacksonville. Every photo and video you see is a miracle. Miracles I don’t take for granted.

Words truly don’t suffice what this journey has meant to me. So, if you were in any part a part of my life and experience in the past six years, I just want to say thank you for being apart of the journey. You made it special.

What an honor. What a privilege. And what a God.

@audreymamaba You amaze me. How fitting is it that you would be leading people into the throne room of the Father, days before the birth of our daughter. How fitting is it to hear your battle cry of worship at youth camp in the summer heat, two weeks before we heard the sound of our own youth. How fitting you'd jump fearlessly into the ocean, four weeks away from birthing the one who'll carry on your boldness. How fitting you'd be teaching little ones about the miracle of the cross, six weeks from birthing our very own miracle. Selah Jean is so blessed to have already learned so much from the most incredible woman she'll know, you, from being a child of our Heavenly Father, as worship as the weapon of choice against darkness, to walking out the faith we proclaim, and the love of God for her that infinitely surpasses all the love we can give to her. I am so incredibly grateful to witness the strength & kindness of the Lord over you as you carried her and I can't wait to watch Selah with so much pride, call you mom.

To an already amazing mother. Proverbs 31:28 says, “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” You are worth more praises than I could ever speak. Your wisdom, your worship, your pure love of people truly reflects God’s glory. I am grateful to have a partner that seeks the face of God more than anything else in the world.

I see vibrant color and the warmth of the sun feels near a lot more often!! Again, the seasons are changing like they always do, but one thing that remains steady is the pursuit of my Father. I can be sure of this because His face shines so ever brightly through those I get to do life with 🥹🌟❣️😇💗💛
