Dear @nessachua we will really miss our conversations , laughs and gossip sessions with you. You always had the best reaction, best come backs. I teased you so much cause I loved you like a sister. @elfiejanexxxo always said we were quite alike, the food we ate, the music we liked..we once had a big fight and she had to mediate haha and she said omg you guys are like siblings. Y'all both always made fun of the pics and selfies I took of us. Here's some bad pics of us all.

At the start of June, I told @aeriqah and @mariancarmelmusic I didn't think this month was gonna be very festive for me coz I was feeling kinda jaded and down... They told me to chill coz it was June 2nd and they were right LOL what a freaking whirlwind of a month 💥💥💥

Many things have already been said by many wise people but to add some of my thoughts:

1. community is everything
2. but community is nothing without compassion, respect, and taking accountability
3. pride is a celebration AND a protest
4. i love you

this pride month was making new friends at sapphic game night, seeing real stories and a theatre full of people singing a song i co-wrote, dancing in the club until they turned on the homophobic lights, and my gymbro arc so i can beat all of yall at the next lesbian arm wrestling :D

Take the picture. If you’ve known me for a LONG time, I was always the one behind the camera. To this day I still love taking candid photos, but over time I’ve tried my best to take photos WITH my friends & loved ones. If you come to my home you’ll see them printed & hanging in every room, a constant reminder of the incredible people I’ve had the pleasure to connect with across space & time.

Social media shows highlights, and it’s trained us to try to portray our lives with a shiny, filtered lens. Trust me, as a person who has been fortunate enough to be in lot of “picture perfect” locations & events, that’s not the part you remember, nor the part that’s important at the end of the day. Live music & travel are important BECAUSE of the way they bring us together.

People. Connection. Even if it’s only “one & done” and we never see each other ever again... how very lucky I have been to have known all of you.

So anyways, tl;dr here is a selection of people I met because of or through touring with Jae, taken during the 1/9 Tour at the end of last year... at least the ones I remembered to capture along the way.

Take more photos with friends. Watch more sunsets. Don’t forget to love each other. Don’t forget to love yourself. This song is my post-show walk-off for a reason!
