Some people enter your life as teachers, but leave it having become so much more.

Today, I find myself struggling to put into words what it means to say goodbye to my beloved Jiu-Jitsu professor @augustorabelobjj as he leaves our academy to pursue an incredible opportunity and the next chapter of his career.

For me personally, the lessons you’ve given me will stay with me always.

There is something bittersweet about watching someone you respect deeply leave. We are sad because your absence will be felt. But we are also incredibly proud, because this opportunity is a reflection of the dedication, talent, and character you’ve poured into everything you do.

A true professor doesn’t measure his legacy by how many people he taught, but by how many people continue carrying his lessons forward.

So while this feels like goodbye, I don’t think it really is.

Your fingerprints are on this academy. Your lessons are in our Jiu-Jitsu. Your voice will be in our heads during the rounds when we want to quit. And the person you helped each of us become will carry a little piece of you onto every mat we step on.

Thank you, Professor, for everything you gave us.

Go chase this next chapter with the same passion and courage you’ve taught us to have. You have earned this opportunity, and I have no doubt that wherever you go, you will leave an impact.

You will be missed more than words can say.

OSS. 🥋❤️

ADCC definitely an experience, did two brackets at 91kg. It was hectic, chaotic, aggressive, everything you’d expect 💪🏾🙏🏾. Definitely was worth doing. Got to see all the homies throw down and compete. Forgot to take a pic with a lot of people but ya know who ya are 💪🏾 @adcc_official #adcc #jiujitsu #adccdallas #kyleshortjiujitsu

A few weeks ago, our GB Coppell family came together for an amazing In-House Tournament! 🥋

Looking back at these moments, we’re reminded of the courage, sportsmanship, and determination our students showed on the mats. Whether it was their first competition or their tenth, we’re proud of everyone who stepped up and challenged themselves.

A special thank you to our student @imagerybynicola for capturing these incredible photos and helping us preserve these memories. 📸

Congratulations again to all of our competitors—we loved seeing everyone represent the true spirit of Jiu-Jitsu!
