‘There is no data to support that’ doesn’t mean it’s not a thing.
There is data, it’s just not always collected or even considered.

Diet is always important. Whether it’s treats, food our drinks. Even the environment counts. Especially specific ingredients.

I raised this in the auditorium with the vets, trainers and behaviourists. Especially as the example case study given was a terrier cross.

Something I know a bit about.

Remaining curious is great. Documenting data and controlling variables in scientific experiments is also key.

Taking readings for a null hypothesis against new data is also helpful.

I’d love to get more involved in the science and design experiments to really test the findings on gut pain, ingredients and behaviour.

Because emotions are made in the gut.

The itching. The licking, the discomfort, the sleepless nights.

It’s not normal, but unfortunately it is common.

Understand the dog food industry, your dog’s system (in a very simple way) and how the food, treats, water and lifestyle we give them has an effect on their health and wellbeing.

Yes cycles do need to be broken, but long term these steroids and medications can be really harmful to our dogs. And that is not why they’re put on these strong immune system modulating drugs.

If the drugs don’t work, we need to understand why. What’s going on. And it’s a process I’m very familiar with.

I needed someone to help me and didn’t know who to trust or where to go to support my dog.

So I became the person I so desperately needed, to stop going round the drug cycle over and over again.

And everything I’ve learnt has helped me and my dogs so much. And all the dogs who I’m able to support.

We had a lovely upgrade at the organic cheese farm.
It is very relaxing, very chilled, and our guys made themselves very much at home after a very busy day, the day before.
Lots of rest and recuperation was needed by all. And it was just so peaceful at the cheese farm.

Now is a great time to diversify the biome.

The microbial activity is ramping up.
Snuffling in woodland can be really beneficial.

Dogs are amazing. If they eat soil, it’s because they can smell the microbes in there that they need.

Since this day, I’ve been on a quest to find out what was going on with @augustusborder.

My vet couldn’t help me. They referred me.
The specialists couldn’t help me. They were stumped. Vet medicine made him worse, not better. The vet first. He refused.
The dieticians couldn’t stabilise him. The nutritionist recipes made him poorly.

And that is why I do what I do now.

It’s why I specialise.

Because I could not find the help I desperately needed.

That’s why I’m so passionate.

I feel like I have the protocol, the knowledge and most importantly, the network.

Being part of something bigger with so many other amazing professionals and let parents doing fantastic things for dogs.

I know what it’s like. I know it’s hard. I also struggled for answers from the places we usually go.
And that’s why I’ve had to not only continue learning, and trying as much as I can, but also be here to support you and feeding your dog, today.

Because no one specialised. The advice online was so conflicting.
I was so confused, constantly. Shelling out for so many different supplements and protocols that wouldn’t work. That made him worse.

And because he is so extreme, I learnt quickly. I had to for him. But I know we’re not alone.

Any operation is stressful.
Knowing you’re doing the right thing for your dog during this time can be helpful.

Stability is key for us, that’s why I specialise in getting dogs stable. Surgery or not.

With all the diet work and gut support my guys get, I didn’t want him to go backwards - he is so sensitive.

It’s a change of season. So you may find your dog is itchier. Less settled.
The rain, the wind. The cooler temperature- the spiders!!! It’s all here.

I’ve had some fantastic diet audit and nutrition Discovery Calls this week. Plus some excellent feedback from my clients doing so much better now they’re stable. I’ve even had some vets get in touch, referring their ‘allergy’ patients. Happy dog, happy life!
