Ok where did August go?? How is today the 1st September.
Summer holidays hit very different with teens! I’m not sure I coped with menopause, undiagnosed adhd (I definitely think this is getting stronger) and a 15,16,17 year old under one roof and trying to work around them!!

But saying that I did find some good times.

@wellnessinthewildfestival to kick things off. With the lovely Francesca, @hillyquack we met new friends Amanda and @lucy_j_matthewson (they really made my weekend!) and I got to see good friend @essexmenopausecoach do her talk finally, I throughly enjoyed that!!
Made a ring, went to the sauna and had reiki for the first time ever with @alexginnswellness which I definitely will be doing again.

I took my daughter to @blank.canvas.hair to get a proper curly girl cut and I sneaked some colour on too!

Big sister turned 50 so family beach day was called for!

Saw Johnny Depp in Colchester!! @hollywoodvampires were great! But I spent most of the night looking at Johnny! This also included hubby!!! He never comes out with me!!

Myself and the lovely Julie @menopausewellbeingstudio met up to celebrate the end of summer holidays, talk menopause and plans for next year and her studio!

Catalina cut the lovely Tara’s hair! Such a proud mum moment. Tara was one of my first ever students when I taught at college. We still see each other, she helps me with weddings when I do them.
She said it was so strange hearing me teach Catalina (she was about 4/5 when we met!)

Then to finish the month my amazing client treated me to pottery painting @craftybearkitchen I love this place I find it so relaxing. I must make more time to go regularly. It was lush being taken by @leannemiles65 too!!

💙💙💙

That was my August what did you guys get up too??

Scummy Mummies at the Civic Theatre

What a night! My sister @auntycakebakes and myself went to see @scummymummies last night @chelmsfordtheatre and honestly, if you ever get the chance to see these two, go. It was like the best kind of night! Full of belly laughs, silly costumes, and proper real life stuff we all deal with.

They talk about everything from teens, motherhood, the chaos of life and yep, menopause too. And they do it in a way that makes you feel seen and totally understood. I was howling with laughter one minute and nodding like mad the next. Tears of laughter ran down my face at one point!

It’s the kind of show where you’re laughing because it’s all so true.
The menopause bits really stood out for me (obviously) they didn’t shy away from it, and it felt so good to just laugh about something that’s usually such a heavy topic. It was like therapy, but with sequins, Lycra, bad dress sense and songs.
Such a feel good night. I left with sore cheeks from smiling, a lighter heart, and that lovely “I’m not alone in this” feeling. I will definitely be booking again!

Our 3rd and final bake of the day (I was there 5 hours!) @auntycakebakes helped me make a key lime pie. We had so much fun making this. It’s another @crumbsbycollette scratch off for my #100bakeschallenge. I’m not to sure if I’ll like it but I’ve never had this before. The mixture didn’t look yummy but I think it turned out well. We made the base out of hobnobs and butter.

Me and @auntycakebakes made Easter ice buns from my @crumbsbycollette #100bakeschallenge scratch of poster. I loved baking these with Aunty Cake. We obviously had to use sprinkles and yellow icing for an Easter-y touch! Me and Aunty Cake had so much fun together!

Syrup sponge cake.

I baked this last weekend with @auntycakebakes and it was so fun. It took quite a while in the oven but it was worth it to get another scratch off on my @crumbsbycollette #100bakeschallenge poster!

This tastes so good especially warm from the microwave!

♥︎ 𝙶𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛 𝚋𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍 𝚌𝚊𝚔𝚎 ♥︎
This last and final bake off box was worth it. It was a ginger cake with ginger buttercream and biscuits.
I made a ginger cake man using @auntycakebakes ‘s @nordicwareuk gingerbread man.
It turned out super cute and I can’t wait to dig in!

This bake off box was a simple. The recipe did have milk (haven’t made a cake like that before) I ran out of butter (we found a small bit that done the job) and I had to borrow (steal) and egg from next door 😂.

I really enjoyed making this, I’ll post the biscuits soon!

🎃 Halloween bunt cake 🎃
I know, I know. Halloween is not till next month but I couldn’t resist recreating this cake I saw online.
@auntycakebakes came round to look after me while @doodleslux was celebrating his birthday up in London! We baked this bunt cake with orange and black on the inside topped with sprinkles and chocolate melts!
I used @harrisonssprinkles Halloween brains, bones, and rip ones from my subscription! Me and mummy found these halloween @official_percypig and @official_colinthecaterpillar sweets in @marksandspencerfoodpr while we were in town. These are black @funcakes_be_creative deco melts which are so yummy. And don’t the @luluqstudio toppers look fab aswell?! Inside picks coming soon!
(I also used @wiltoncakes and @squireskitchen orange)
