Dhaulagiri, 8167m — the first mountain in my life I’ve had to turn back from twice.
Of course I’m disappointed.
When you spend months preparing to return to the same 8000m mountain for a second time, you don’t go there telling yourself that summiting doesn’t matter.
I wanted the summit.
The second time, even more.
But this autumn brought almost everything we didn’t want to experience — metres of snow, floods, avalanches, and sadly, lives lost in the mountains.
It was a difficult and heartbreaking season for many.
For a while, it felt like the climbing season was simply over.
Then, somehow, we returned to Dhaulagiri 10 days later — and with that came hope all over again.
This time, I went higher.
I made it to Camp 2 and saw the route towards the summit.
So near, yet so far.
And eventually, I turned back once more.
Every 8000m mountain has taught me something different.
Dhaulagiri, apparently, has decided that one lesson isn’t enough.
So, for the second time, I turned back.
And I’m sure that I’ll be back again.
Because it’s there. 🏔️

What’s next? 👀

I’ve been an athlete for years, and I’ve coached for 7 of them. 🏃🏻‍♀️🧭 Then an injury sat me down, and now I’m back on the start line! 🏁🥹

Here’s what the sport has taught me:
As an athlete, I learned nobody’s comeback is rushed. Stamina first, then strength, then speed. 💪🏻
As a coach, I tell my athletes the same thing: the plan matters more than the pace. 🤍

What it really be like… 💔➡️❤️‍🩹

I always show the good side. The progress. The comebacks. 🏃🏻‍♀️
But it ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. 🌧️

For a long time, I was scared to trust my own body. 🦵🏻 Every step forward came with the fear of going backwards.

I was told to rest. To stop. To accept that sport might look different now. 🥹
It wasn’t just a knee. It was my identity. My worth. My calling. I felt like I’d lost *me*. 💔

And the longer it took, the heavier the pressure got. 🫠 Every month that passed, everyone else sped up while I felt stuck, and the fear of being too far behind grew louder.

I realised:
I didn’t need my old body back…
I needed to trust my body again! ❤️‍🩹

Recovery isn’t linear. Setbacks, plateaus, fear, and days where progress felt invisible. If you’re in that stretch, I see you. 🤍

Pure Games 2026.

Had the privilege of teaming up with @ayumi.g_ishere and @maxmaxmaaaax with one goal: go all out and see where we landed. Turns out, we landed on the podium.

A great way to kick off my monthly competition season through January. Training is ramping up, and I’m ready to take it all on.
