It’s that time of year! EFA Open Studios 2026 is almost here! @efastudios
Explore 85 artist studios (including mine), artist talks, exhibitions, and more. This year I’m also thrilled to be part of Pathways: Bodies of Memory, curated by Sameer Aurora @aurora.artprojects . The exhibition brings together nine EFA artists whose practices explore memory, displacement, and belonging, and the ways our bodies and materials carry both personal and collective histories.
Come say hi! I’ll be at Studio 908. 🐣

Join us for a final night wandering the wilds of our 𝘍𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 season. We’re closing the exhibition with a Sonic Salon on Wed May 6th from 6-9pm, co-hosted with our dear friends at @dublab, LA’s beloved community-supported radio station.

Together we’re turning the gallery into a 𝘚𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘵 listening party, with sounds curated from Dublab’s “ꜱʜᴇʟꜰ ʀᴇꜱɪᴅᴇɴᴄʏ” at Friday Gallery, and an invitation to collage an album cover of your own strange imaginings. We’ll have found scraps of dreamlike images, myth and spirit lore, old record sleeves, and everything you need to create. It’s a night to slow down together, let go, and dream a furry little dream.

As the closing reception of the exhibition, the evening is a last moment to experience works from Roberto Benavidez, Anindita Dutta, Diego Moreno, Larissa De Jesús Negrón, Rafaela Mascaro and Pedro Troncoso.

Come sink in. Let’s rumpus, you wild things.

Larissa De Jesús Negrón in 𝘍𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 at Friday Gallery.

Larissa De Jesús Negrón @ldjnegron is a multidisciplinary artist from Puerto Rico working across painting, installation, and visual storytelling. Her practice constructs surreal landscapes that weave memory, emotional inquiry, and embodied experience. Water functions as a central metaphor for psychological movement and introspection, while the female body operates as archive and agent, grounding her work in themes of vulnerability, femininity, and inner transformation.

Her work “Retrato psicológico” (in spray paint, oil, soft pastels, and pencil) is an imagined landscape of introspection where inner and outer worlds blur. Anchored by a fragile glow, the figures merge with native plants graced with watching eyes. Set in the artist’s backyard, this is less a portrait of a woman than a portrait of thinking itself.

Larissa’s work has been exhibited extensively, including in solo exhibitions at Anna Zorina Gallery and Nicodim, and in group shows at Harpers Gallery, The Hole and Nino Mier. She has also shown at leading art fairs, including KIAF Seoul, NADA, Untitled and The Armory Show.
