Teachers are the backbone of Child’s Play NY. I’m delighted to share these photos of just some of our extraordinary team from over the last many years. Thank you to all the amazing leaders, artists and humans who teach our young actors!

There is No Plural of Moose by @auroramfox

To explain Alaska to an outsider felt insurmountable, the vastness of the state akin to another world, like trying to describe a trip to Mars to someone who had never seen a satellite image of space. Coincidentally, it’s much like how I felt leaving Alaska for the first time—an endangered species outside of its native habitat, survival tenuous and comfort denounced.

The expansiveness of Alaska still feels directly proportionate to the expansiveness within myself. To stand at the base of a mountain towering above me with her uncompromising layers and ruthless wildlife, her neutrality at my survival electrifies my being. My brain takes up miles of space; my body replicates her strength. When I’m not home, I feel a little more shrunk, a little more deflated, too inflated with material convenience and frictionlessness against the wild.

I’ve been spoiled by the generosity and cruelty of Mother Nature after a youth growing up at home. I’ve wondered at her plentiful fireweeds, our sign of summer emerging in May after a long, nine-month winter. I’ve felt the air whirling around me atop a mountain while listening to the deepest silence I could ever imagine, gazing at a valley that stretched into eternity.

My home has long been a sense of pride and shame. In my youth, Alaskan pride shone through my soul like the noon sun bouncing off a glass shard, a clear spotlight on my identity. People in Alaska are very proud of being from Alaska, seeing themselves as a part of the power of Mother Nature rather than a human in opposition to it. They gloatingly embrace a frigid wind with no accouterments, boasting an inhumane ambivalence. I, too, take overwhelming pride in my tolerance of chill, struggling against my body’s natural acclimation to the lesser evils of New York City winters. My home lives in extremities—perhaps why I’m prone to extremities.

I PERFORMED AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN YESTERDAY + some beautiful moments from this year… Words cannot begin to describe how euphoric and joyous yesterday’s performance was. First time i’ve ever cried tears of joy while actively still on stage lol. The crowd, my fellow performers, everything was so beautiful and FUN. This year has taught me so much, i’m truly learning how to find the levity in challenges and comfort in change. It’s crazy how seemingly insurmountable waves of grief, loss, discomfort, etc only build confidence and self trust on the other side. So so grateful to see another year, here’s to 2026.❤️

HAPPY 2026!!!!!!! 2025 brought so much to me, travel to new countries, experiences, growth, my first jury duty experience, the most INSANE work season of my life, and the most present year of my life. I was off my phone more, more with my people than I ever have. So much so, that I made my yearly post (this one) last minute as I ring in the new year (hence the last pic). I hope 2026 brings me many more moments off my phone and in my joy with my people 🥹❤️ of course I had to set this post to my #1 listened to song of the year- still can’t believe I saw lady Gaga live at Coachella like what?? Love you all 4eva
