If you asked us 16 minutes before this photo if we’d have two upper-40” fish in the net, we probably would’ve said, “haha yeah I wish!” But that is exactly how things came to be on a day that perfectly captured the essence of what chasing fall muskies is all about!

After a full working man’s day of covering water in poor weather conditions and not a ton to show from our efforts, I almost made a move to a spot we had still not fished for the day still in the “searching” mode.. but something in my head laid the boat off plane and spun us back around towards the spot where Jimmy and I were about to capitalize on our one window of the day! Two bites, both coming in an extremely short 15minute window and both happening in the figure 8! A few front row tickets to two unreal clear water figure-8 eats made for an awesome finale to the show!

This time of year I preach a few things: Simplicity. Efficiency. Understanding Inevitably Shorter Windows. Make the most of your chances when they arrive and don’t fish/search yourself out of an opportunity.. especially at sunset!

Jimmy and I had discussed these points all day, along with the importance of boatside keys and execution. To have it all come together in the final minutes made for an awesome few moments and another beautifully memorable day of chasing muskies!
I’ve still got availability for November if you’re looking to get out and chase some southern Wisconsin muskies this fall! Get ahold of me in DM or directly at (815)575-3468!

I get asked all the time, “do you drive down the road with your rods in there? They don’t bounce out?” Well my answer is always yes I drive to the lake an hour everyday and they do not bounce out! From the driveway, down the road, on the lake and home, rods stay secured in the angled rod slot design with added padding protection and do not bounce out! Good news for those who would like even more added protection.. the show season will have a new and exciting option for you! #WAVProducts #RodHoldersRedesigned #protectyourequipment #fishing

October & November will always remain a special stretch of musky season and overtime learning it better, it’s become one of my favorite seasons to chase clear water Muskies! What all of these fish have in common… they’re big, beautiful, and seem to come around as the colors begin to change.
This fall timeframe has continued to grow on me as you see little to no recreational traffic, potentially bad weather that eliminates about half of the fair weather fisherman, and some of the lakes largest muskies who find themselves back on predictable structures. Fall is where I preach the utmost simplicity with a focus on the small things that can make a huge difference.
I’ve got a good number of open dates left for this fall and some BIG goals for what we have left.. hoping to make it bigger and better than last fall… If you’re interested in booking a day and wanting to learn some of the fall musky patterns we have left (pre turnover, turnover, post turnover and late fall) give me a call or text at (815)575-3468 or shoot me a message on socials!
As our water temps are currently dropping into the mid 60s, the best of our areas fishing is still ahead of us! Availability still remains around coming moon phases and historical big fish dates so get ahold of me and let’s get you in the books and on the water!

Seen a number of people while in Minnesota also running their WAV’s and loving them! Grab yourself whatever you need for fall fishing as more layers, cold weather and a bit more of a trying time on the water, can be aided with no tangled messes and organized/secured rods in a WAV! wavproducts.com
