I'm excited that one of my early artworks will be included in de:HUMANISE, at the @sognogfjordanekunstmuseum in Norway, opening on the 5th of June. From the collection of Arne Austrheim and Tom Sydhagen, this exhibition explores hope, resilience and what it means to be human.

Five years ago I was fresh out of university, still on the coat-tails of COVID, and I honestly didn't believe I could make it as an artist. I made 'Comforting Discomfort 3' during the @latitudes.online Mentorship Programme. It was then included in the @gunsandrain Fresh Voices exhibition in 2021 and was one of the first artworks I ever sold. The works I made at this time were fundamental to how my practice would develop (there was a lot of abject felted flesh initially!).

I'm so grateful to those who have supported me over the years, especially @austrheimar for acquiring this piece and Julie, from Guns & Rain, for representing me.
I'm excited to have my first museum inclusion alongside a wonderful variety of artists!

Hard work is not always loud or sweat-bound. Sometimes it is found in the subtle act of holding on to who I am, even when the world asks me to become something else. Identity is shaped through these moments of persistence—thread by thread, story by story.

It is a huge honour to share that Masters of Style has been included in de:HUMANIZE, an exhibition drawn from the collection of @austrheimar and Tom Sydhagen at the @sognogfjordanekunstmuseum - Norway. The exhibition opens on 5 June and brings together artists from across the world whose works engage questions of humanity, dignity, resistance, and belonging.

To know that this work, originally acquired through @gunsandrain , will continue its journey within a museum collection is both humbling and affirming. As an artist working with fibre, material memory, and the complexities of masculinity and identity, it is meaningful to see these conversations resonate beyond the studio and across borders once again.

Artists in the exhibition: Andres Serrano, Ashfika Rahman, Anne-Karin Furunes, Dash Snow, Gardar Eide Einarsson, Igshaan Adams, Julian Röder, Nilbar Güres, Olia Fedorova, Matthias Frantz, Odirile Khune Motsiri, Omar Mahfoudi, Radenko Milak, Dawit Abebe, Rune Elgaard, Tuli Mekondjo, Aneesah Girie, Sizwe Sama, Shumon Ahmed, Hannah Macfarlane, Dev Dhunsi, Thebe Phetogo and Shuvo Rafiqul.

Ke rata go leboga everyone who has supported my practice, collected my work, visited exhibitions, shared conversations, and believed in the possibilities held within a piece of cloth and a thread. Our engagements have been the spirit behind every artwork and every step of this journey.

Aluta continua.

@henieonstad in oslo invited #malgorzata-mirga-Tas to present "alternative stories" . at the opening today @georges.adeagbo and mirga Tas met the first time. their work has common denominators: both work on decontstructing cliches about their respective cultures. #decolonization #equity #romani #tater #discrimination #polishpavilion2022 #oslo
