I haven't been posting a lot lately... mainly because I've been busy trying to sell parts 🤦🏽‍♂️ ... parts that i hope will fund my Cal Look '62 project 😜

More on that at a later date 🤞🏽😊

So... about a month ago i mentioned to a fellow '67 owner that one of my door lock pulls was broken and that I couldn't find another one anywhere.
Then Ernst @austrian_callook from Austria messages me and asks for my address 🤔🤷🏽‍♂️

He said he had an extra one 😃... and instead of trying to sell it to me, like a normal person ... he just posts it to me 😳
For no other reason but the mutual love of these historically significant 1967 Beetles that we both own 😁❤️🙏🏽

Now this particular plastic part is in no way "mission critical", and the car is still stunning without it.
But in my humble opinion, the fact that no other Beetle model up to and including the '66 model could lock from the inside with a pull pin, is important and deserves recognition.

To lock your Beetle (before 1967) you would need to push the inside door lever in the opposite direction.

The door pin, that every future Beetle would end up having, was first introduced with the production of the 1967 Beetle 😊
It was, in a way, historically significant 👌🏽

The very first version of these pull pins had a specific number of stepped ridges... subsequent versions were simplified and slightly different with each iteration.
You know its a '67 pull pin by how many steps it has 😉👌🏽... If you know, you know 😜

Back to Ernst... What a legend 😁💪🏽🫂

The Odyssey is grateful 🙏🏽
