Last spring, a friend called me from the side of the road with a flat tire, even though I live hours away and have never changed a tire in my life.

I asked her why she hadn’t called roadside assistance; she said I was the first person she thought of to call.

So I looked up the number, talked her through the whole thing, and stayed on the phone until I could hear the tow truck pull up behind her.

I hung up and sat there, waiting for the part where I felt good that she feels better, and I felt proud of myself for showing up…but it didn’t come.

There’s a hidden cost to being the strong one, the first one everyone calls.

It’s time to talk about it.

Join me on October 28th 1-9 at the @herhealthsummit2026 Boca Raton @thestudioatmiznerpark where I’ll share more about the difference between being a leader and being a savior.

If there is a very glamorous side to writing a book… ummmmm…
this is not it. 😂

So the manuscript was out of my hands for a while, and now it is back with me for one of the final editing passes.

Which apparently looks like…

Re-reading chapters I have already read more times than I can count.

Taking breaths.

Jumping around.

Drinking my smoothie.

Talking to myself.

Spinning in my chair while I decide whether a sentence needs to stay, move, breathe, or disappear completely.

Apparently doing squats. 😂

And then going right back to editing.

This book has been a whole journey before it ever becomes something you get to hold.

But we are getting close. @authorlisaray

Women’s health has been dismissed long enough.
Pain ignored.
Hormones misunderstood.
Menopause overlooked.
The mental load treated like an afterthought.
That ends here.

Take a deep breath, because something magical is coming to the Her Health Summit. 🎶
We are honored to welcome Jill Rapperport, The Urban Shaman, who will guide us through her signature Shamanic Sound Bowl Meditation and Gong Experience during our breaks.
For more than 40 years, Jill has studied Indigenous healing traditions, energy medicine, meditation, and the healing practices of the medicine people of the Americas. Through crystal singing bowls, gong, and shamanic practice, she creates sound journeys that quiet the mind, open the heart, and calm the nervous system.
Between powerful talks, you’ll get to pause, reset, and return to center. Because healing isn’t only something we learn. It’s something we feel.

We are thrilled to welcome Liz Labella to the Her Health Summit! ✨
Liz is a Functional Medicine provider and Emory PA graduate specializing in hormone optimization, metabolic health, and root-cause care for women. Every day, women come to her feeling dismissed and told their symptoms are “normal.” Liz is on a mission to change that, by listening first and creating personalized paths to healing instead of quick fixes.
She’ll be joining our panel on midlife, where science meets soul and women finally get heard.

A personal invitation from keynote speaker & Ayurveda expert Dr. Shivani Gupta:

“I wanted to share with you about an incredible event coming up right here in Boca Raton. For the first time ever, the Her Health Summit is a full one-day event all about health, empowerment, and research — moving the ball forward when it comes to women’s health so we can rise up and thrive.

I’ll be giving a keynote, and so many of my friends are speaking and on panels. There’s also a beautiful vendor area. It happens October 28th at Mizner Park from 1–9 PM.

This is the first time I’m seeing an event like this come together in Boca for us to gather in community, to learn, to grow, and to share together. I can’t wait.”
