POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

There’s something so special to me about a second-chance romance. I’m not sure if it’s just the nostalgia of being young and then getting another chance at love with the one that got away, but every time I have the chance to read a second-chance romance, I absolutely adore it—no matter how repetitive or familiar it feels.

That’s what makes Renee Monroe’s (@authorreneemonroe) "A Second Shot" so comforting—the relatability and almost 2000s rom-com-esque vibes this debut novel has. Pair that with rainy New York love confessions and a destination wedding in Switzerland? I’m sold.

📚✨ Better late than never lol! Here’s my September recap! ✨📚
I honestly didn’t realize how many books I read this month! 😂 I made a HUGE dent in my ARC list and finally caught up on a few that were past due, which felt so good. 📚✅
I didn’t take as many book pictures as I normally do, but September was definitely an interesting month outside of reading too! I went to my coworker’s wedding 💍, took another trip to Disneyland 🏰✨, went on a weekend trip to Mexico 🇲🇽, and even saw a couple of movies, including Verity and The Love Hypothesis. 🎬📖
September was definitely busy, but I’m proud of myself for making time for reading along the way. 🥹❤️
QOTD: What was your favorite thing you did or read in September? 👀📚

📚📱KU Favorites📱📚

Here’s my September Wrap Up and October Hopefuls!🖤

This October I’m reminding myself to take reading at my own pace and slow down but also remember to have fun and not give up on what I love and myself which more often than I would like never are the same thing, but I’m working on myself this month and practicing some self love!

What does your October look like?

Every well balanced book maiden has at LEAST two personality types:

1. 📖 “Let’s read something dark, emotionally devastating, and mildly concerning.” - best paired with a hot chai, one shot of white coffee & 2 pumps of brown sugar cinnamon syrup.

2. 📕 “Or… hear me out. Let’s take it easy & read a cute romance.” - matches with a hot chai, 1 pump coconut syrup, 1 pump vanilla & sweet cream cold foam.

Me: “but why do I need to choose one, when I can be both?”

I had the opportunity to meet @samanthajonwrites at @beansandbind | where I made a mildly dumb comment & she still welcomed my little black heart with open arms.

Then there’s @authorreneemonroe who recently dropped her new novel “A Second Shot” & I was lucky enough to receive a copy before she created her new pen name (no longer Nikki Hutchings).

I’m excited to read both this fall. Thank you to both authors, who graciously signed their novels for me. 🖤
