I am grateful to announce that I have been elected to be the Chargé d’Affaires for the fourteenth iteration of the Washington International Relations Conference (WIRC).
WIRC is an education-first event featuring workshops, simulations, and a keynote speaker designed to help middle and high school Model UN delegates strengthen their skills and gain a deeper understanding of international relations. Hosted both virtually and in person, WIRC makes Model UN training accessible to students and advisors across the country. WIRC creates an inclusive, supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and build confidence-whether attending their first conference or their twentieth.
I am so excited to lead our team as well as the rest of the executive board for the American University International Relations Society accelerate early international relations education for all we reach! I want to thank the AMIRS community for their belief in my leadership, and I would like to thank Isobel Mathews for everything she taught me and supported me through as the most recent Chargé d’Affaires.

It was my honor to be appointed the Simulation Director of this iteration of the Washington International Relations Conference. In this role, I had the opportunity to create an educational environment for students of all ages to learn the ins and outs of crisis simulations in Model UN. Over the course of the past couple months, I was writing the background guide and character bios for our crisis simulation, Hungary is Hungry: Addressing Civil Unrest Due to Landlocked Drought. Over the course of the weekend, I got to present to students how Model UN has acted as an irreplacable assett to my development as an academic and employee, and I got to guide a full team of staffers to allow the ideas of the delegates to thrive and succeed. Getting to be part of secretariat for this one of a kind conference, I feel I have further fueled my passions for education, leadership, and event management. Thank you to WIRC for this opportunity, and I can't wait for next year's conference!

The Washington International Relations Conference (WIRC) is a one-day Model UN training event featuring workshops (“WIRCshops”), a keynote speaker, and realistic committee simulations. Offered both virtually and in person, WIRC helps high school students and advisors nationwide build skills, gain confidence, and grow as delegates, whether it’s your first conference or your twentieth.

Led by American University’s award-winning Model UN team and experienced staff, WIRC provides an open, supportive environment focused on learning before competition. Our mission is to make Model UN training accessible and affordable for all students, empowering them to become stronger delegates, leaders, and individuals.
