The in-between moments — before, during, and after a shoot — are some of my favorites. Intensity gives way to introspection, work gives way to rest because what looks easy can take a lot out of you. Anyway, here's a nonet of moments from the past year and half. Looking forward to more of these moments as I continue to get back into collaborations.

North Adams has such an interesting palette of locations that I jumped at the chance to make the trip out when Ava and I first discussed collaborating. We spent the afternoon walking various spots around downtown and cranking through rolls of 35 and 120. I was a little worried about using Portra 160 when the shadows got long, but it gave some frames an even more mysterious feel. The hippo, however, is on Optik Old Skool, which I really dig. #natural #fineartmodel #northadams #portrait #portraitphotography #mamiya #mamiyarb67 #portra160 #storytelling

A few weeks ago, I trucked out to North Adams to spend the better part of a day with Ava. We wandered parts of town, filling several rolls of film amidst an epic conversation about life, health, trauma, and goals, all against a soundtrack of Stop Making Sense. Stay tuned for more from the afternoon. #fineartmodel #boston #bostonphotographer #bostonartist #northadams #portrait #portraitphotography #nikon #neopanacros #blackandwhitephotography #storytelling
