Turns out the best way to get older is to climb hard with your friends.

February birthdays, but make it outside.
Got to celebrate with a few February babies at the crag.

I’m stoked on a new project out at Red Rock 🪨

Grateful for the friends who came out and crushed hard together! 💪🏼

sometimes we scream to quiet the pain

proud of the send on this south lake gem. I could do most of the moves during my first session in 2022, but the dead point to the lip eluded. got it pretty quick this time around just to get shut down by the top out.

it was pretty hot that day and it's pretty blank up there, fear was getting the best of me. I asked Reu to power spot me into the top and tell me exactly what to do. that made all the difference.

the ache was starting to get to me after all the attempts, but I locked in and gave it my all.

beyond the send, I'll never forget the insightful conversation we had about balancing your personal desires versus the groups' on a climbing trip and managing expectations all while listening to the wind through the trees and looking at small waterfalls in the distance. what a gift it is to be outside.

RODEO

1. an exhibition or contest in which cowboys show their skill at riding broncos, ropingcalves, wrestling steers, etc.

3 Projects. 1 night.

Climbing is grit and failure. Small wins and putting the pieces together.

All together Rodeo demanded more than sends, it demanded honesty to capture the concept well.

Angela couldn’t have been a better subject for this project. Her relentless spirit and hard work represents an attitude that’s more than valuable in this sport. It’s what keeps it alive.

And a big thank you to my lovely lady Novia for support and second cam the entire night.

Press for Less // Moe's Valley Bouldering x The Padded Room Area // December 30th, 2024

A little 🥧 day slice of the past! If you know me, you know I love looking at the occasional climb less traveled. Press for Less connects Pressed for Jess into the upper half of Petri Dish. It's a cool climb that allows for a pretty natural progression of difficulty if you've already done the more popular lines on the boulder.

I think what was more special than sending this was unexpectedly running into @omarmurga_ and his crew not that long after he had been in a really scary car accident. After running into the same faces so often and bonding over shared passions, it's hard not to make friends climbing outdoors. Omar is certainly one of those friends for me and seeing and climbing with him that day was truly impactful. I was so stoked to see him healthy and out; if you follow him, you know he's up to nasty things on his hang board 🖕🏼🖕🏼🫣 If it wasn't for him still recovering his ability to see well and me breaking one of holds on the climb before his one of his goes, he definitely would've started the send train for me that day.

Also, Jun made me pizza 🥹

Follow @thedesertrat_sg and @southernutahclimbersalliance for info and to stay posted on what we can do to help with access issues where crags in St.George like Moe's Valley might be lost forever. They have been working hard with various organizations to save this land we love so much. If you haven't already, you can sign a petition to help save these climbing areas. It makes a difference!
