Williamstown, there’s a new dinner date on the horizon. 🍷🌊

Bungalow 147 by the Bay is opening this summer, bringing regional Indian cooking and boutique Australian wines to a heritage building on the waterfront.

Behind the kitchen? Chef Deepak Mishra, whose career includes The Langham and Hotel Chadstone. After almost 30 years in luxury hospitality, he’s opening his first restaurant, with a menu that gets personal.

Think sharing plates, a courtyard for drinks and upstairs celebrations overlooking Hobsons Bay. There’s plenty to get curious about.

Back in July when we visited here for a hens and it was such a lovely long lunch☺️

Amazing flavours with every bite!! Very hard to choose a favourite - but if I had to all the starters were amazing!

Orson turns One.

Friday night was a pretty special milestone.

Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated our first birthday with us and to all of the friends, producers, suppliers, winemakers, growers, chefs, guests and familiar faces who have been part of Orson over the past 12 months.

Opening a little restaurant and watching it find its place in the community has been quite the ride, and we’re incredibly grateful for the people who have backed us, supported us, eaten with us, poured a glass with us and continued to walk through our door.

To our team, thank you for being part of the story.

And to our friends who joined us in the kitchen and around the restaurant on Friday night, thank you for making the night feel so very Orson.

One year down. Plenty more to come.

A beautiful visit yesterday at Avani with Catherine from Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve.
After a busy week of trade in Sydney and Melbourne, Catherine was more than happy to escape the big smoke — and especially excited to visit a biodynamic vineyard in Australia.

What followed was a wonderful exchange with Shashi and Rohit Singh about biodynamic farming, the challenges of climate, and their shared vision as farmers working with the land.

The Singh family’s generosity made the day even more special, with Devendra’s delicious Indian fusion menu, plenty of stories, and, of course, wine. Cosse Maisonneuve Cahors Laquets 2016 × Avani Syrah 2016. Different places. Different varieties. Yet remarkably similar in the glass: depth, elegance, aromatic complexity and freshness.

For us as importers, these are the moments that make the journey truly special: bringing together two of our iconic portfolio producers, sharing ideas, wines and stories, and creating a memorable encounter between people who share a deep respect for the land.
