Our purpose is simple, yet profound: To inspire spiritually compassionate changemakers 🧘‍♀️📚

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s that time of year again… when we start talking about the C word. 🎄

But for many families in our local area, the worry has already begun.

Worrying about how they’ll get through Christmas, how they’ll afford gifts for their children, how they’ll keep their homes warm over the winter months, and how they’ll manage the cost of food, bills and everyday essentials.

As a family support charity, we see these struggles every day in the families we walk alongside, and we know just how much pressure this time of year can bring.

Our annual Christmas Appeal is back, and we’re hoping to make things a little easier for the families we support.

We’re already lucky to have the support of some wonderful local businesses, but we’d love to hear from anyone else who might be able to help.

Whether it’s a gift for a child, food, essential items or a contribution towards helping a family this Christmas, every little bit really does make a difference. ❤️

If you’re a local business or someone who would like to get involved, please get in touch.

Let’s come together to support local families and take a little of the worry out of Christmas. ❤️🎄

Today, we were delighted to welcome Jane, a vocalist who helped write My Gift, the Avanti song! 🎶

We were especially proud to be one of the first schools to welcome Jane and share in this special experience. The children loved singing My Gift, bringing its meaningful message to life through their voices and celebrating the song that is such an important part of our Avanti community.

A truly special day filled with music, connection and our Avanti values.

The part of school leadership nobody tells you about? The joy.

“I was worried that becoming a CEO would disconnect me from the classroom. Actually, it’s a wonderful place to be, because I get to see even more children and young people.”

Where is the light in our learning?

Standing on the set of 3 Idiots, a film that challenges the rigidity of education, I was reminded of what learning can truly be.

Education should inspire curiosity, creativity and human flourishing, not simply prepare young people for exams.

At Avanti, we want to bring that light into learning and inspire educators to help every child flourish.

Because when we bring light into learning, we help young people discover their own.

Dear @andy.burnham - the education shake-up is welcome. But something is still missing 🙏🏽

Broadening success beyond one academic pathway? Yes. Creative subjects, sport, learning by doing? All of it matters.

But if we only reform what children learn, we ignore who children are. A flourishing life needs us to attend to the world within, not just the grades beside a name.

So here’s the question every classroom should be asking: what is a purposeful life?

What does it really mean to prepare young people for the future?

Nearly 20 years after Sir Ken Robinson’s iconic TED Talk on creativity, the question still feels just as important: Are we doing enough to nurture creativity in our schools?

At Avanti, we believe education is about so much more than academic success. It’s about helping every child discover their unique talents, think creatively, express themselves with confidence and develop the imagination they’ll need for a future that’s constantly changing.

Whether it’s through music, the arts, innovation or everyday learning, we’re committed to creating spaces where creativity can flourish and every young person can thrive.

Because when we nurture creativity, we don’t just prepare children for the jobs of tomorrow, we help them become spiritually compassionate changemakers who can shape a better world.

How do you think schools can inspire more creativity?

Leicester Rathayatra, bringing devotion, music, and celebration to the heart of England.

The vibrant festival began in Leicester’s city centre, directly outside ISKCON’s Radha Madhava Temple on Granby Street, with the Deities of Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra carried out in a tumultuous pahandi ceremony.

The festival was inaugurated with a traditional dance performance by Leicester Girls Maher Raas Group, followed by a welcome address by Temple President Pradyumna Das with special guests including Shivani Raja MP, and Dr James Biddulph CEO of Avanti Schools Trust.

The colourful procession travelled from the city centre along Leicester’s Golden Mile before arriving at Cossington Park, where thousands of visitors enjoyed an afternoon of family-friendly activities, including live cultural performances, mantra meditation, children’s entertainment.

Pradyumna Das, President of ISKCON Leicester, said:
“Rathayatra brings together the best of ancient Indian culture and spirituality on one site, in one afternoon. This year’s event is especially significant as the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) marks its 60th anniversary, celebrating six decades since its inception in 1966. Our immense gratitude to Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada who brought the spiritual heritage of ancient India to the West, making the worship of Jagannath popular and accessible throughout the world.”
