Join me on Monday, July 27, at the POETRY CO-OP OPEN MIC at the WATER WITCH TIKI BAR.

Sign up begins around 6:30 pm, and poetry starts at 7:00 pm.

This is a relaxed and casual group, and a great place to try your first public reading.

Every reader gets 5 minutes. You may read your poetry, fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction, letters, whatever. No music or stand up. Just don't be hateful.

Plus, the drinks menu is always worth exploring!

Meet me Monday, July 13 for the POETRY CO-OP OPEN MIC at the WATER WITCH TIKI BAR.

Even if it cools down only a little, the drinks will be cold, and we need to give a warm send-off to our favorite bartender, Laine.

Sign up begins at 6:30, poetry at 7:00.

Everyone gets 5 minutes to read from their poetry, fiction, nonfiction, memoir, zine, or notebook scribbles. It's a laid-back group, and a good place to do your first open mic reading. No music or standup please.

No, the Ruminating Poet Press Mobile Bookstore is not quite ready to travel yet, but soon. I'll let y'all know when we are ready to hit the road. (After we practice hauling a trailer!)

Keep cool. Stay safe.

Despite the heat, or maybe because of the combination of heat and cold drinks, we had a good group at the POETRY CO-OP OPEN MIC last night.

The only sad note is that we learned that next Monday, July 13, will be the last night with our favorite bartender, Laine (pictured), at the WATER WITCH TIKI BAR.

So, next week, we plan to give Laine a fine send off, and welcome Aiden as his replacement. Come join us, and remember to tip well.

Beau Frail was our substitute host for the night, and did a great job.

We had eleven readers, and FIVE of them were with us for the first time.

The poets, in alphabetical order as usual, were: Alexa (new), Avery (new), Beau, Bex, Cadence (new), Drew, Joseph (new), Marc, Moultrie, Paramita (new), and Randy.

I was particularly happy to see my friends Alexa and Avery come to the Water Witch for the first time. Enjoy being 21!

And Cadence, whom many of us know from her lovely vocal performances, also joined us to read!

Moultrie brought in and read from his book of photographic and prose vignettes, titled "Port Royal: A Spiritual Place." Very nicely done.

Do your best to stay cool and stay safe, and REMEMBER - join us next week to show Laine our appreciation. We will miss him.
