I’m pleased to share the availability of Ethiopian-Israeli singer, songwriter, and storyteller AvevA for concerts and cultural programs across North America.

AvevA’s performances combine soulful contemporary music with storytelling drawn from her Ethiopian Jewish heritage. She first gained national recognition on The Voice Israel and has since performed internationally on stages including The Kennedy Center, Skirball Cultural Center, the Jerusalem Sacred Music Festival, Overton Park Shell, and the TEDx stage.

In 2013, I recorded Omar Pene, a Senegalese legend and one of the most important voices in West African music. In this video from 2013 (taken by Daniel Trau), you can see and feel how a true master sings his heart out. I am grateful to have been present in such a special moment. Years after I recorded AvevA - the missing piece was found

“Joxna” means “I will give it to you” in Wolof. This song brings West (Senegal) and East Africa (Ethiopia) together. So here we are, finally giving it to you.

With the coming holiday of Sigd (November 19-20), celebrated by Israelis Ethiopian Jewish community, we are excited to share the availability of soul Singer AvevA for concerts and masterclasses throughout North America. We are also happy to share AvevA’s latest single release entitled “Mad World”. It is a heartfelt reflection on the tension between societal demands and personal values — ambition versus belonging, success versus authenticity.

Additionally, AvevA recently received praise from The Jerusalem Post, which highlighted her unique artistic voice and cultural perspective — a rare and timely addition to any event’s program. The Jerusalem Post Article linked in our link tree.
