What a heavy metal birthday!

When Metallica announced their Sphere shows back in March, tickets sold out almost instantly. Somehow, my husband made it happen months later:

On my birthday. In Vegas. At the Sphere. METALLICA. With my man. Unreal.

Nothing Else Matters 🖤

(No offense to Taylor or Sabrina)

There’s a quiet that ceases when kids arrive.
Then there’s the quiet that’s around all the time.

There’s quiet in the dark, brown noise snuggles.
And quiet to keep fun lovers under covers.
There’s quiet when we know the kids are up to no good.
Then there’s quiet when they head off to big boy school.

There’s a quiet when we hold our breaths for the rip.
There’s a quiet when we wait for the FaceTime clip.
There’s a quiet that’s peaceful and warm when you protect … and a quiet when you object and project … to protect.

The quiet is nice.

And even when the storms commence and the lightning strikes… the chaos and mess… you’re still the man we look to for safety and rest.

Then there’s a quiet that creeps between you and me.
But that quiet is old and deaf… and unlike us, hasn’t known how loud we can be.
How loud love can be.
How loud these crazy kids can be.

So let the quiet cease when the kids arrive…
because life… got louder and a whole lot more fun, when you became Daddy.

See, you are the rock, the strength, the calm, quiet Ol’ Pa.

Michigan with family. Nature, cool temps, a castle, track, sand, a cracked phone, torn hamstring, and a dead airline. Most importantly, love, dances, smiles, hugs, pizza, more love, runs & waddles. My Family.

Spirit shuts down, leaving us stranded in Detroit on the way home to Houston. What an adventure! Shoutout @chasesapphire & @united for their incredible customer service during a sleepless night.

Now will we get refunded or reimbursed? Only time will tell…
