This experience is definitely going down in the books. Coming up on a month since we closed (insane) it’s been nice to reflect on all the memories we shared during this process🫶🏾

To be in an environment where everyone is so warm, and we all genuinely care about one another is such a blessing that I don’t take for granted and I will cherish this cast and this experience in my own little corner ;) of my heart forever

This whole experience itself has honestly been a fever dream😭 I’m trying to find the words and I’m genuinely struggling to bc words really cant sum up how incredible this entire process was😭 I really love this cast DEOWNNNN like I don’t play ab yall FRFR😭😭

my heart is so full.

coming into this project, i was extremely conscious of my youth, my lack of experience, my quirks. i was lonely and feeling dispensable, having recently been through a period of loss and dealing with the grief of losing people who weren't gone.

may 12, 2026, 10 am, i already knew i'd met the most beautiful, most radiant, most precious souls on this earth. they never made me feel embarrassed for the love i had to give, for the joy i had to feel, for the tears i had to cry.

in getting to know Grace, i'd revived that silly, playful, confident ashlee that had been briefly shoved deep down for protection. and these people watered that seed and now get to watch it bloom.

i see God in you.

This year has been so amazing in ways I could have never anticipated. At the end of last year I ask God to present me with more opportunities to showcase my talents beyond just singing at weddings. I also said I wanted to do a musical production in 2026.

God got started early by providing me an opportunity to tour with a production in February throughout California. It was a beautiful black production that was outside of my norm and I thought…okay I’ve done it. I’ve did my musical “sorta”. Clearly I was thinking too small.

To think I almost didn’t even go to the audition for Cinderella because I found out about it literally a few days before hand. Fast forward a few months and I can’t fully put into words the joy and gratitude I have from this experience. This experience was so special. Everyone’s talent, heart and spirit in this production was divinely placed for us to share with one another. These types of productions are what we as creatives dream about when we say we want to engage in the arts. So black, so talented, and so loving.

To those of you who came to see me, I can’t express how much it meant to see you after the show. To the creative leaders, thank you for selecting me to be apart of this production. Each of you poured so much into this project and you supported us in exactly the ways we needed. To the production crew, thank for you holding it down and making sure we had what we needed on and off stage. Thank you to the team @truecolorstheatre for selecting this production. And to my cast mates thank you for bringing your beautiful talents and souls to this. Thank you for welcoming me and loving on me through this whole process. I normally am one to keep to myself but being able to play with each and everyone of you for the past two months has brighten my days and taught me the value of allowing people in. I love you all and look forward to seeing how our paths continue to cross and align. Until next time ✨
