Presale purchase a pizza all to yourself or buy slices day of, either way it's all going to be super fresh and delicious! 📼🎞️🎥 TAPE Los Angeles is a 501c3 non profit dedicated to the preservation and creation of analog media. We support ourselves through service-based donations, affordable equipment rentals, workshops and events. Along with sliding scale and affordable offerings, we host and facilitate free and year round opportunities for home video preservation, digital autonomy, and donation based screenings, events and parties! We are hiring more staff and strengthening TAPE's multifaceted community services with this fundraiser. Everyone deserves to feel embodied in their voice whether they’re performers, public speakers, or folks who want to find more confidence in their voice day-to-day. That’s why Rhea Tepp (they/them) started @avocado_spaceship. Rhea primarily works with queer and trans people, providing gender-affirming voice coaching and sound exploration. Rhea draws on two decades of experience as a musician and facilitator to create a healing space for people as they play and explore their voice. Most folks who work with Rhea have had negative experiences using their voice in recitals, church, or simply ordering coffee due to bias and gender dysphoria. Rhea helps them develop a deeper connection to their voice through music, safely explore their singing or speaking voice, or they’re singers or speakers desiring a vocal tune up. Shoutout to the queer business community! Thank you, Crystal, and the whole team for this opportunity. This spring, Izzy represented XFM in a leadership + brand development accelerator for trans, nonbinary & gender-expansive business owners in LA County. We got to learn, connect, and get real support around leadership, mindfulness, branding, marketing, legal + tax, business strategy, and more. One of the best parts? Meeting other queer business owners. Pet care. Coaching. Fashion. Creative work. Video. Legal. Marketing strategy. Accounting. Health + wellness. Acupuncture. Mentorship. Gender-affirming voice lessons. Restorative practices. So many different skills, businesses, and ways of showing up for community. Earlier this year, I launched a leadership and brand development project to support transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive business owners in L.A. The program has been deeply connective, enriching, and supportive for everyone involved -- participants, facilitators, and partners. We're near the end and celebrating with an in-person launch event in L.A. to showcase the leaders and their businesses. They have all put in so much work and I hope you'll support them by amplifying their businesses. We're so excited to have a vocal exploration workshop for QTNB people at Junior High this May! If you're interested in accessing a more embodied and confident relationship to their speaking and/or singing voice this is the workshop for you.⁠ ⁠ We will go over basic vocal anatomy, breathwork, and get into a variety of playful exercises to experiment with sound. Whether you consider yourself a singer, are shifting your voice to match your gender presentation, use your voice at actions/public speaking events or just want to learn a new skill, you will be able to apply these techniques to your everyday experience. Participants will leave the class with a goodie bag of support for the voice, including a handmade zine of techniques and resources.
