The year’s most talked about documentary may not event get a Best Documentary nomination. Why would ‘You Can See Everything’ get shut out? As our Prestige Junkie pundits tell Katey Rich, the documentary branch has an aversion to films that are popular. Andrew Scott accepting his MVFF Award for Acting & Producing for Elsinore, and of course making us emotional along the way. Such a beautiful way to dedicate this moment to Ian.

“I hope that he’s looking down somewhere at us here in San Francisco, many years later and seeing the distance traveled and that we maybe are swimming in the seas of some change. So this is for you, Ian”

2027 Oscar Predictions: BEST ACTOR and BEST ACTRESS (September)

By @awardswatcherik @ryanmcquade77 @sophia_cim and @mark_likes_movies

While Matt Damon has held the course as one of the few Best Actor contenders with frontrunner status and the fortitude to maintain it, the fall festivals have revealed the likes of Andrew Scott (Elsinore) and John Malkovich (Wild Horse Nine) to play their siren songs to take that crown.

I, well, we, know for many that Inde Navarette (Obsession) has been their frontrunner for several months and she’s confirmed to be run in lead categories, but is it a One Wish Willow or actually going to happen? Most have felt that Julianne Moore would finally return to the Oscars, having come close in 2023 with May December, but so far has been without a nomination since her win for 2014’s Still Alice. When The Debut premiered at Telluride (and subsequently after Toronto) it became clear the she is the true frontrunner in Best Actress.
