You have ONE body. Not 100 disconnected parts for 100 different doctors.

Your mind comes with you to every call. Your body carries you home. What you carry from the job can follow you into your sleep, your relationships, and the way you show up for yourself.

On World Mental Health Day, remember: all of you matters.

At The Wonder Within, we teach you to get present. Notice what you’re carrying. Feel your feet. Breathe. Move something to move something.

Be willing to check yourself. You belong on the list of people you check in on.

Build a life that can take a hit.
The Wonder Within 💚

The Wonder Within didn’t start as a business.
It started as a healing journey. Mine.

Before there was a business, a building, a fire department contract or a stage, there was this:

• I battled an eating disorder for 20 years.
• I drank myself to sleep after my brother died because I didn’t know how to hold the grief.
• I buried myself in work because achieving was easier than being present.
• I was a mom I’m not proud of because I knew how to work, produce and keep moving—but I didn’t know how to slow down and just be.
• I spent years teaching people how to take care of themselves while learning how to take care of myself.

Those aren’t side notes to The Wonder Within.
They’re the reason it exists.

At 17, fitness and nutrition found me when I started taking my health into my own hands. Then came massage because I understood the power of human touch. Hospice taught me about life and death. Yoga found me when I needed it.

And somewhere along the way, what I was learning to help myself became something I could use to help someone else.

That healing journey started leaving breadcrumbs:

• 2004 — Joined the military and became a medic.
• 2007 — Became a firefighter and on to a paramedic the next year.
• 2012 — Built a little massage “she shed” at home.
• 2016 — Opened The Wonder Within: massage, yoga, TRX, wellness, education, retail and community.
• 2017 — Took the work into fire and police departments.
• 2020 — Speaking grew. The rooms got bigger. The message did too.
• 2022 — Sold our last brick-and-mortar to make room for what this was becoming—and more room for my family.
• Today — First responders. Military. Organizations. Stages I never could have planned for.

Almost 25 years later, I can see the thread through all of it.

So much of what I teach, I needed first.

Regulate instead of escape.
Fuel instead of punish.
Recover. Grieve. Be present.
Build a life that can take a hit.

The buildings changed.
The uniforms changed.
The rooms changed.
I changed.

But the work hasn’t.

Find your way home. Then turn around and help someone else find theirs.

Maybe that’s why the name still fits.

The Wonder Within.

Blue-collar workers have always been close to my heart.

I grew up in a body shop.

I know what it looks like when strong people carry weight nobody ever asks about.

I love speaking to these crews.

They build what we live in.
Keep the lights on.
Fix your cars..
Show up after the storm while everyone else is still asleep.

And they’re struggling.
Addiction. Depression. Burnout. Silent.

Much like first responders….except nobody’s talking about them.

Construction workers die from overdoses at a higher rate than almost any other industry.

Men account for nearly 80% of suicides.

The same grit that makes a man show up every day is sometimes the same thing that keeps him from asking for help.

So who’s showing up for them?

That’s why I’m in these rooms.
The work matters.
The people doing it matter more.

‼️ Season 7 Episode 41 ‼️ The Power of Vision | Guest Baron Baptiste @baronbaptiste

“People without vision perish. We all need a sense of purpose, a deeper meaning in life.”

Nick and Baron also reflect on the lessons learned from raising three sons and the importance of encouraging the next generation to find their passion. They address the “resignation” of the modern world, offering strategies to tap into a higher purpose and a more centered sense of self.

Stop letting everyone in who hasn’t earned the door.

Most of us were taught to ask everyone except each other.

Except ourselves.

The answers were always in the room.

Build it bulletproof. Keep it sacred.

The best teachers stay students. 🔥

One thing that matters deeply inside The Wonder Within…

Our team never stops learning.

Every instructor on this team is intentionally and consistently studying, training, refining, and growing.

Not because we “have to.”
Because we care deeply about the people we serve.

None of us believe we’ve “arrived.”

We challenge each other.
Learn from each other.
Sharpen each other.

And behind every class, conversation, and training is a servant heart.

We genuinely want to show up better for the firefighters, departments, and humans who trust us.

That’s the standard here.

Always learning.
Always refining.
Always serving. 🔥

Full circle moment this morning.

6am class with Bonnie…back in a space I hadn’t stepped into since I sold it at the end of 2022…
a decision that ultimately transformed our mission.

So many proud, beautiful memories in those walls.

And it reminded me of this…

Nothing we build is ever really gone.
It just becomes part of what’s next.

Every teacher.
Every class.
Every version of us in those walls—

It all stacks.

Bonnie—like ALL the incredible women of The Wonder Within still teaching in this space—started as a supporter…
stepped into our teacher training…
and now she’s leading powerful classes and building something of her own.

That’s the ripple.

What we’ve built is never behind us-
it’s what we’re standing on.

That’s what it looks like when it’s built to last.

Grateful for all the parts, pieces, and incredible people who have shaped TWW.
