A robot couldn’t help her. But a caregiver would have known exactly what to do.

In this scene from “Catalina,” Daniel comes home to find his mother in the middle of a dementia episode — and their AI caregiver, Catalina, is powerless to help.

When our director @martinrusselljohnson screened this clip at the @domesticworkers National Assembly, the caregivers in the room immediately recognized the moment and knew what care mom needed.

That’s exactly the conversation this film exists to start.

Care isn’t a protocol. It’s a human instinct that can’t be coded, automated, or replaced. Care deserves a human touch.

💬 Have you ever been in a moment where you knew exactly what a loved one needed, but the system around you didn’t? Tell us in the comments.

Catalina makes its world premiere at the Oscar-qualifying @lashortsfest on Friday, August 7 at 3:15 PM — Program 41 at Regal NoHo West.

🎟️ Tickets at the link in bio.
