Chicago Marathon 2026 | 3:10:28 | It is always hard putting so much time into training for a race to have so many things go wrong and not achieve what you set out to accomplish. This might have been the most painful race, between my hip hurting from the very beginning to awful full-body cramping after mile 20. I am grateful for the privilege of running my first major, but I am not proud of this race, and that is okay. I did achieve a 6 minute PR, but I am unsatisfied. I know what I could have been capable of, and for that reason I am coming at @bostonmarathon with a vengeance. The job is not done.

A beauty of a morning to race through the streets of Grandview.

Had the pleasure of working on the inaugural elite program for the Grandview Yard Half Marathon. It’s been a lot of fun getting involved with different events in Columbus, as we look to provide opportunities for elite and aspiring elite runners throughout Ohio. To those that were apart of this first run at this, I appreciate ya.

Massive shout out to @ayex457 for his third win in the Men’s race and @katelyn_mckown for her 1st place in the Women’s race.

Thanks to Danielle, David, and the staff at @m3ssports for the opportunity. Excited to continue to work with this great team in the future.

Keep on the look out for Spring announcements 😉

Chicago Marathon - 2:30:15

4 minute pr but disappointed with how things panned out. My goal coming into the race was 2:24 and I was on pace to do so until I hit a big wall at around mile 14-15. After that I couldn’t find a rhythm and slowly faded. No matter what time I ran or how happy I’m currently with the result, I’m very thankful for the last 18 weeks leading up to this race. This block of training threw me some curve balls I’ve never dealt with before. The marathon is beautiful and brutal. I’m grateful for my family, close friends, and team who picked me up when I was low, supported me along the journey, and were there for me every single moment.
The atmosphere was electric, I could feel the energy in the air, and I’ll never forget this weekend. Even though it wasn’t truly what I wanted, I put all my faith in God’s plan for the future. Going to focus on some speed this winter and start training for Boston this spring.
Chicago, see you sooner rather than later. Redemption is on the horizon.

August running with friends part 2 occurred at the Grandview Half and Quarter Marathon. Very, very mellow day. I had 8 on Friday and 20 yesterday so today was kind of a recovery quarter marathon run. High humidity but the clouds came out and made for a nice morning, shielding us from the sun. I managed to finish just seconds ahead of the Half Marathon winner. It was @andrewye, someone who I actually know from my retirement job. As it turns out, he only beat me by 6.55 miles 😅. #blackmenruncolumbus was there along with friends from every little corner of my life including other run clubs, my job, my gym fam and even ran into a young lady my children’s age that is married to one of their classmates. What a nice young lady. Low impact day that was highly rewarding with a spectacular finish at THE Waffle House with the gym fam. 👊🏾💪🏾❤️.
As always, I continue to be grateful and do not take even one step for granted. #FDJT #regulate #lifetimelearner #blackmenrun #blackmenruncolumbus #ahealthybrotherhood #columbuswestsiderunningclub #stayinupright #workinprogress #AARPmiles #instarunners #runnersofinstagram #stravarunning #stravarun
