The practice I used to avoid the most is now my most demanded class.

During my 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training, there was one practice I consistently tried to dodge: Ashtanga Vinyasa.
I used to run away from it every chance I got. Why?
Was it the sheer discipline it demands every single morning? A quiet lack of confidence? Or was it the myth we often hear in the yoga community—that Ashtanga is reserved strictly for advanced practitioners, not meant for beginners?

The yoga world often paints Ashtanga as an exclusive club for elite practitioners. But the truth is, the more you run away from something that challenges you, the more life draws you right back to it.

Today, breaking down Surya Namaskar B with focus on alignment, breath, and grounded energy isn’t just something I teach—it’s where my students and I find our deepest focus.

Still practicing. Still learning. Still showing up to be better than yesterday. ✨

DON’T SKIP YOUR NON DORMANT SIDE —that’s usually where the real magic (and growth) happens.

One side builds strength, the other side builds perspective. 🌿 Real balance happens when we show up equally for both.

Why do we always practice both sides in yoga?

Physical Alignment: Offsets daily habits like favoring one leg or carrying bags on one shoulder.

Nervous System Reset: Balances active (Ida) and passive (Pingala) energy channels.

Mindful Presence: Forces you to slow down instead of rushing through your “weaker” side.

Notice which side feels stiffer today, give it an extra breath, and let your practice level out.

lessons from india i'm integrating:
things do work out
you can never be off your path
leap & the net will appear
we're all just walking each other home
the answers arrive when you’re ready to hear them
the path reveals itself as you walk
life is happening for you & through you, not to you
nothing is ever wasted
it's worth following what lights you up
nothing is missing
the only way out is through
rest in the unknown
trust the invisible
keep your heart open
let yourself be carried
remain curious
