do you prefer long or short chapters?🌷

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a dreamy weekend🫶🏻

@heavenlybibliophile tagged me to do the #justonemorechapter tag - thank you!💕

🌷long or short chapters?
short chapters! I read so much faster that way✨

🌷chapter names or chapter numbers?
Chapter numbers, sometimes names feel a little spoilery👀

🌷multiple or single POV?
Multiple! I love hearing from more than one character😊

🌷do you check the next chapter length before continuing?
Only if I’m not enjoying the book🥲

🌷bookmark, dog ear or book jackets?
Bookmark! I don’t dog ear my pages and I leave the dust jacket on my shelves when I’m reading📖

🌷what’s the latest you’ve stayed up after claiming ‘just one more chapter’?
Maybe 12am? I cannot read late into the night, as much as I’d love to, I’m too sleepy😂

Thank you @fictiontea @afrolicthroughfiction @readerofrivendell @ridiculusreads for tagging me🥰

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 - 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

🎄Which winter holidays do you celebrate?
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day✨

🎄What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
Nativity! (first and second ones are the best) They’re always the first Christmas films I watch each winter❄️

🎄What’s one book you’re secretly hoping to receive this year?
Oh I don’t have any particulars in mind, but something that will grip me from start to finish!🤩

🎄What’s your go to Christmas drink?
Diet Coke?😂 I don’t drink hot drinks so my drinks don’t change with the seasons😅

🎄What’s your favourite indoor activity on a cold winter day?
Winter is peak Nintendo switch time! I’ve been loving getting back into animal crossing and stardew valley! Also reading, movie nights and puzzles 📚

🎄Do you like snow?
Love it!! We had a snow day on Friday so all my plans were cancelled and snowmen were built ☃️

🎄What’s your favourite holiday tradition?
Christmas pyjamas and a movie with my family on Christmas Eve 🥹

🎄If you had to live in a Christmas film, which would it be?
The Holiday so I can stay in a cabin in the snow🥰

🎄What’s your favourite festive dish?
Vegan pigs in blankets, ah so good!🤤

🎄What’s your favourite festive book?
I haven’t read any Christmas books that I can think of off the top of my head. Blood and Ash reminds me of Christmas but that’s because that’s when I read it 😂 Does anyone have any recommendations?👀♥️

I’ve tagged some people to do this challenge but if you haven’t been tagged, still feel free to take part, I’d love to hear your answers 🤍✨

I do😁
I discovered this series a couple of years ago and I absolutely 😍😊

Book 7 recently came out and I absolutely can’t wait for my copy to arrive and I’ve decided to reread and OMG this series is long but definitely worth it💕💃

The Mistborn Saga
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank the Lord Ruler I finally crawled out from whatever rock I was living under and finally decided to read this series @brandsanderson
#bookstagrammademedoit and I have no regrets!!!!

I'm at a loss for words at how perfectly this series and I fit together; the only way I can think of explaining is that, upon finishing The Bands Of Mourning I found myself questioning the validity of most of my previous 5 star reads. How could I possibly place them in the same category as this? I felt the hilarious banter between the characters, I also found that I loved the steady, detailed world building. The immaculate secondary detailing is what really set this apart from other adult fantasies I have read, and I can't wait to continue on and see where Sanderson takes us. I don't really have much else to say, as I've jumped on the bandwagon late in the game and I'm so happy I did!💃🏻😁 @b00kdragon thanks for recommending this series

~ Which author have you discovered this year, and you have to read everything they have written? ~
•
•
For me its Brandon Sanderson

Do you know the feeling when you've discovered an AMAZINGGGGG author @brandsanderson @torbooks

I just wanna thank @b00kdragon for steering me in this authors direction cause she keeps gushing about this author on her bookstagram posts, and I love making new bookstagram friends😁

I've been #bingereading most of his books, and guess what??? Rhythm Of War came out yesterday and I'm so freaking excited 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻to start this book, I definitely can't wait for my copy to arrive!!!
If you haven't read this series yet you don't know what you missing out on, it just has EVERYTHING, trust me you'll love it❤💃🏻😉
Here's a mini review if you wanna check it out, trust me #bookstagrammademedoit and I have no regrets 😅😁🙌💃🏻

The Way of Kings
☆☆☆☆☆

What I'm going to say is that I LOVED everything about this book, the characters, the story, the world building!

Words of Radiance
☆☆☆☆☆

This book feeds your soul!!!
Okay, this is finally happening. I’m ranking The Stormlight Archive as my number one favorite book series of all time, overtaking the throne previously held by Mistborn trilogy, and I don’t think this will change anytime soon. Brandon Sanderson really raised the bar for the epic fantasy genre sky high with this series.

Oathbringer
☆☆☆☆☆

I adore the first two books in this series beyond words and that may even be an understatement. I mean, Words of Radiance is one of the best books I have ever read and an absolute favourite of mine, so when I say Oathbringer had big shoes to fill, we’re talking BIG shoes. It’s sometimes unfair to a book to have to live up to such expectations, as when they fail to live up to them it’s often a product of over-hype as the cause of the failure, when in fact, the book is brilliant in it’s own right. Anticipation wants it’s cake and it wants to eat it too. I take my hat off to Sanderson🙌🙌🙌🙌

~ Did you finish any series this year? ~
•
•
I did, quite a few actually 😁

but the one that kind of stayed with me was The Daevbad triology, it was a bitter sweet feeling to say goodbye to my favorite characters 😭😭😭 @sachakrabooks

I don't even know what to say about Empire of Gold, but it was utter PERFECTION!!!

If you know me at all you’ll know how much this series means to me.❤❤❤ I’ve fallen in love🖤🖤🖤 with this world and characters since I've discovered this series from @b00kdragon, she was always gushing about it on her bookstagram page 😁 and I'm really thankful I've discovered it.

If you haven't read this series yet I suggest you should 😉 AND YOU KNOW ITS GREAT WHEN ITS BEEN PICKED UP BY #Netflix FOR A TV SHOW 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Now that I’ve read it I can definitely say that it solidifies the trilogy as one of my all time favorite book series ever.❤❤❤❤

This book had everything I could have wanted and more.🖤😉

What I love most about it is the character development.Dara has been my favorite character since his very first appearance in The city of brass and his ending - and his last scene with Nahri - made me cry so many tears of happiness😭😭😭😭❤❤❤ that I had to stop reading, I couldn't see the words lol😭🤣. For me, his ending is the ending every antihero/villainous character should have!!!

QOTD: Which was the last book that you was gifted?

I am so happy with that gift from @gemmas_bookshelf ... this is amazing and gorgeous!!!

Thank you very much ❤😍😘

Sinopse:
"A cache of unsent love letters from the 1950s is found in a suitcase on a remote island in this mysterious love story in the tradition of the novels by Kate Morton and Elizabeth Gilbert.

1951. Esther Durrant, a young mother, is committed to an isolated mental asylum by her husband. Run by a pioneering psychiatrist, the hospital is at first Esther’s prison but soon surprisingly becomes her refuge.

2018. Free-spirited marine scientist Rachel Parker embarks on a research posting in the Isles of Scilly, off the Cornish coast. When a violent storm forces her to take shelter on a far-flung island, she discovers a collection of hidden love letters. Captivated by their passion and tenderness, Rachel determines to track down the intended recipient. But she has no idea of the far-reaching consequences her decision will bring.

Meanwhile, in London, Eve is helping her grandmother, a renowned mountaineer, write her memoirs. When she is contacted by Rachel, it sets in motion a chain of events that threatens to reveal secrets kept buried for more than sixty years.

With an arresting dual narrative that immediately captivates the reader, The Forgotten Letters of Esther Durrant is an inspirational story of the sacrifices made for love."

We can’t say enough good things about ‘The House in the Cerulean Sea.’ 💕 And @b00kdragon agrees, check out her post below. Have you read this one yet?
“It's the little things, I expect. Little treasures we find without knowing their origin. And they come when we least expect them. It's beautiful, when you think about it.”
↠
What’s the most important part of a book for you?
↠
I always struggle to write a review for books I love. Because how does one put into words exactly why one loves something, it’s indescribable to name. It is a feeling that completely overwhelms and makes me word vomit all over the page. And this book is no different. This book came in and completely swept me off my feet. The characters were positively delightful & so heart warming. They had me grinning like a fool for most of the pages and the next thing I knew I was crying. And I’m not talking a single tear type crying, I’m talking big fat tears soaking my pillow because they won’t stop coming crying. 🤧 And mind you this book is 397 pages long & to make me so thoroughly invested in the characters in so few pages that I’m crying is a freaking feat in and of itself. Klune’s writing is intelligent, poetic & oh so poignant, especially in these times. This book will make you smile & feel all the feels and the romance is... gah, it’s one of the best I’ve read in a while. This is easily making one of my favorite reads of the year! And if you haven’t read this book yet- I highly recommend you do so immediately. It is deserving of the hype & will restore your faith in all that is pure in this world. It is honestly a cathartic release for the soul.
↠
What’s the most important thing in a book for you? If you couldn’t tell, for me it’s the characters, it’s always the characters. Don’t get me wrong I love a good plot but I stay for the characters. And Linus, Arthur, Lucy, Sal, Talia, Chauncey (sob), Phee, Theodore & Zoe own me mind, body & soul. 🙌🏼🖤

⭐️ If you could ask the author of your current (or last) read one question, what would it be?
..::..
Happy Sunday Wanderers! I hope everyone is having a restful weekend. I decided I want to make part of our bedroom a home gym so... I’m thinking cleaning and organizing is going to be my project for the next couple days.
...
I also felt a bit more inspired photo wise this weekend! Partly because of this absolutely stunning Remnant Chronicles art from @whimsicalillustration Lai, Rafe and Kaden are characters I haven’t been able to get out of my head since reading this series last year. I definitely think it will end up my rate rereads list. If you haven’t read this series, I definitely recommend it! The Dance of Thieves duology from the same world is also great.
...
➡️ Also some #squadlove today! Check out a few amazing bookstagrammers that have made this community so incredible.
..
Now I’m going to release a breathe I didn’t know I was holding and dive back into The Rage of Dragons 🤣🐉

Are you an artsy person?

I fancy myself creative when it comes to home decor type stuff, but I am not creative in an artsy way like drawing/painting. I’m always so in awe of the talent some of my friends have, like @newleafwriter . I love this print and sticker she made!
