A circle drawn on paper becomes the rule for an entire yacht.
Scion Scion is the project with which b-arch ranked among the winners of the second edition of the Cantori Design Challenge, promoted by Cantori in collaboration with Cantiere delle Marche. The concept pays tribute to Ennio Morricone not through the imagery of his films, but through his compositional method: a minimal intuition that, through repetitions and variations, grows without losing its identity.
The circle thus becomes the generating principle of the spaces of the Flexplorer 146. On the Main Aft Deck, it takes shape in a large sofa overlooking the sea and generates the pool; it then propagates along the yacht, shaping the veranda table, the living area, the dining area and finally the Owner Cabin. A sort of solar system in which each space retains its own identity, while still belonging to the same geometry.
The open and permeable kitchen turns food preparation into a moment of sharing, while a room dedicated to listening houses more than three thousand vinyl records, an analogue system and a single armchair facing the sea. Douglas wood and steel run throughout the entire project, together with solutions in which light and sound become part of the architecture.
A single sign, continuously transformed, thus builds a narrative capable of bringing together music, geometry and life on board.

Paris after dark, reimagined.

The legendary Bus Palladium enters a new chapter through the vision of Studio KO. Heritage, nightlife and hospitality meet in an interior where atmosphere is as important as function — preserving the rebellious spirit of a Parisian icon while giving it a contemporary design language.

When adaptive reuse feels entirely new.

Hotel Lucile transforms a historic Los Angeles building into an intimate hospitality destination shaped by warmth, colour and a distinctly residential sensibility. Electric Bowery demonstrates how existing architecture can evolve without losing the character that makes it memorable.

History, without nostalgia.

At Romègas Hotel in Valletta, Malta’s architectural heritage becomes the starting point for a contemporary hospitality experience. Historic character, Mediterranean materiality and carefully considered interventions create a dialogue between past and present.

A new idea of country living.

Quinta Filippa moves away from conventional rustic codes in favour of restraint, natural materials and a close relationship with the surrounding landscape. The result is contemporary Portuguese residential design that feels grounded in place rather than defined by trend.

The second edition of the Cantori Design Challenge, promoted by Cantori with Cantiere delle Marche, brought nine studios on board the Flexplorer 146 to interpret the Owner Cabin, Main Saloon and Main Aft Deck through Cantori furnishings. This year, music guided the projects.
First prize went to Presence by DE.TALES, which meets the experimental universe of Pink Floyd to imagine a dynamic, immersive yacht capable of transforming together with those who experience it.
Second place went to The Unseen Side of Luxury by Dainelli Studio, inspired by the prism of The Dark Side of the Moon: geometries, reflections and materials shape a measured idea of luxury, linked to privacy and transformability.
Among the winning projects are also Scion Scion by b-arch and Morricone Reloaded by Giò Forma. b-arch starts from Ennio Morricone’s compositional method and from an essential sign, the circle, which repeats and transforms to become the matrix of the entire yacht. Giò Forma, on the other hand, turns to cymatics to make sound visible: vibrations and frequencies become geometries, textures, light and surfaces to inhabit.
Four projects awarded for their ability to transform a musical concept into a concrete vision of life on board. Four projects, four different ways of transforming music into space. From Pink Floyd to Morricone, music changes language and becomes interior design.

In the new issue of @door_repubblica, dedicated to the theme One of a Kind, @b_arch_ is featured with Nomade, an extensive editorial dedicated to a house-atelier in Florence.

Conceived as a fluid and evolving space, the project blurs the boundaries between home and workplace, allowing architecture to respond to changing functions, collections and ways of living. Materials, custom-made elements and movable volumes become part of a narrative shaped by transformation rather than permanence.

A significant editorial feature that brings @b_arch_’s distinctive approach to architecture to the pages of Door, highlighting a design language rooted in material experimentation, adaptability and the identity of those who inhabit the space.

In Florence, @b_arch_ transformed a former hat factory into a home atelier where living, working and collecting are deliberately left in motion. Two large iron volumes can shift as the needs of @slobischka and Filippo Cortini change, allowing the architecture to follow the life inside it rather than fixing it in place.

Even today, above the entrance to this low-rise building, an inscription reads: ‘Palestra’. It is the only visible reminder of a bygone era. “The setting is industrial – something unexpected in Florence, a city that always tells its story through its Renaissance façades”, says architect @Sabrina_Bignami, one of the two driving forces behind the practice @b_arch_, alongside @Alessandro_Capellaro. She found this space – a former gymnastics academy and, before that, a hat factory – after many months of searching, just as she had almost decided to give up. She was looking for a loft suitable for a home-studio for @Slobischka and Filippo Cortini, clients who later became friends. The result is “a single, large space – hybrid and multifaceted, never static – where it is not the architecture that determines the functions, but the functions that shape the architecture”.
