🌎Keep moving . The time is now
Even when it’s hard .
One step at a time . 🎂♎️
No limits. Know yourself .
Be good with that.

This year was special .
This is the thing , if you live to see the morning sun you are blessed .
I love mornings when I can see you all …
You 🫵🏿
…. I just want to thank everyone that reached out to me for my birthday . This week I’m reflecting and giving thanks to everyone that I have encountered. Rise gently this morning. To my fellow Libras 😊 🫶🏾🫶🏾lean in on your season . And ALL of you please …. Keep moving .

These two LA kids got to experience a historic moment. Last night was a movie, a chapter that’s been unfolding for months now has lead to this moment. We’re grateful for the support from family, friends and fans alike. Jazz is freedom, jazz is alive, jazz is expression.
we’re just Stepping into our purpose.

You can’t make lemonade if you don’t have any lemons first. 🍋

I wrote “Lemons” in my college dorm room, looking back at everyone who said I couldn’t. Here it is live at the Brandy Melville Sessions — an original song, sung for real.

This one is for anyone who has ever been told they couldn’t. Send it to someone who needs it.

“Lemons” is out now everywhere. Link in bio.

Beautiful moments and memories. Jazz is alive!

Black Nile with Charles Gaines, Devin Daniels, Zev Shearn-Nance, and Brian Hargrove gracing the historic stage of the Hollywood Bowl. An unforgettable night and moment, with many more to come!

what a full moon weekend. 🌕thankful to all the artists who came by the house to spend some quality time offline together, with our elders, and to pour into one another with intention on Friday. i know my spirit needed it. hope yall left more fed.
Baba Amde recited powerful poems and shared insightful stories that always leave me in awe.

The next day we headed off to the legendary @montereyjazzfestival thank you for giving me one of the most unforgettable weekends of my life. Having @officialmeshell & Angela Davis in the audience for our set was truly special. I’ve worked with Angela Davis for many years and always in movement meetings or conversations but never before had I been able to share poems and song. To show up fully as an artist. I don’t have words what that meant to me yet…

Hanging with so many incredible good-hearted humans inspired me deeply. Meshell and @abester8 came to both our sets and it was touching to all be together sharing songs and poems we all made with one another. Not to mention sharing an overhead cabin with Herbie Hancock on a flight back to LA! But more importantly to share this weekend with my heart @drumbrownie and his family was the sweetest part. To bear witness to a world within his world. Loving joy it brought me.
