Had to end the night screaming HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY to my 30th book, THIS HAIR BELONGS.

This book means so much to me, just as each of the beautiful Black women I dedicated it to.

Thank you to @astrakidsbooks and Rebecca for seeing something in my words, and thank you to @brooklyndolly for your illustrations--your work is more beautiful than I could ever even imagine.

Welcome to the world, THIS HAIR BELONGS!

I got sent an eARC by Patrick Barb & I’ve made it past the halfway mark in this inspired anthology built around the music by Neutral Milk Hotel. There have been no weak stories, but as is often the case, some hit me harder than others. So far I’ve been particularly struck by those written by Helen Victoria Murray, Camila Hamel, Briar Ripley Page, Joe Koch, Matthew Kressel, Erin Brown & Brian Evenson.
Firmly within the weird, it’s not a light read in spite of how short the stories might be; but it’s a stimulating one and not an experience I’m likely to forget. Looking forward to the kiddos going to bed so I can read a bit more. Also seems I’ll make it with my review by Tuesday (I cut it close to pub day with this one!).
