Over the next few weeks leading up to the Policy Lab presentations, we'll be highlighting each of our 2026 topics and teams - starting with the @bacharlorai team of Andre Policzer, Kimberley Moriarity, and Jehan Mohamed, with the coaching and mentorship of Sonja Solomun. The team was tasked to answer how South Asian nations can govern the rise of AI and digital public infrastructure in ways that protect rights, strengthen democratic institutions, and accelerate inclusive economic growth. "Through a case study on Bangladesh, we've been able to engage with subject-matter experts, many of whom have completely opposite perspectives. Getting to learn from South Asian academics, governments and civil society leaders has been enlightening, and it challenged our own preconceptions of Western-based, top-down approaches. Our results highlight the critical importance of informal networks, locally grounded initiatives, and adaptable conceptions of digital sovereignty and control. This policy lab has been an incredible experience in translating idealistic conceptions of digital governance into concrete, applicable policy solutions, while also highlighting the global majority's role in spearheading innovative and inclusive solutions to emerging technologies, social issues, and governance challenges." Stay tuned for the group’s report available July! Learn more: mcgill.ca/x/Uqq

i’m honoured to be named part of the Impact 25 Under 25 cohort by @bacharlorai BacharLorai Global. This is a recognition spotlighting young leaders under 25 from the Global South creating meaningful, community-rooted change. 🌍 honestly, I don’t expect awards for the work we do at AFI (@theafinitiative ) I do it because I genuinely cannot imagine not doing it. because I consider it a privilege to know my purpose so certainly, and to be able to chase after it. watching girls from rural and underserved communities step into their power through education, health advocacy, and leadership? that’s always been the point. what recognitions like this do is take work happening quietly in communities across Africa and put it on a global stage. and for that, I’m grateful. thank you to everyone who continues to support this journey, and especially to @kweku.dadson and @misspobee for pushing me to put myself forward for this. the work continues. it always does.

In 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞-𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, women often carry the weight of uncertainty with very few opportunities to rebuild their lives. To stand beside them, It’s Humanity Foundation and @bacharlorai , implemented by @protibha_2014 , have launched a sewing training program in the remote char area of Kolcondo in northern Bangladesh. With 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬-𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐬𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭, 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, women are gradually turning skills into income and finding a way to support their families with dignity. And in that journey, empowering a woman means strengthening an entire community. • • #ClimateResilience #WomenEmpowerment #SustainableLivelihoods #itshumanityfoundation

Grateful to be recognized as a 25 Under 25 Impact Awardee This moment represents more than a milestone, it reflects a journey rooted in climate action, biodiversity restoration, and empowering young people to lead change in their communities. From restoring ecosystems to building platforms for youth-driven solutions, every step has been guided by purpose and the belief that impact is collective. Being included in this cohort alongside other inspiring young changemakers from across the Global South is both humbling and deeply motivating. To everyone who has been part of this journey—this recognition is ours. And this is only the beginning.
